Comment:

I took his class years ago as well. I would never take his class again. He was by far the rudest person I have ever met. He is very demeaning. He told a man that missed his first class because he just got back from Iraq that it was no excuse for being late on his homework. We started with 25 people and with about 5.

Took his class years ago but after reading some negative comments about him I felt I needed to clarify his reputation. Please do not feel intimated by his constructive criticism and grading style. He montioned from the get go that it is going to be a tough class for those who prefer to take the easy route. Participation & critical thinking matters!

Very strict. Very effective communicator. Does not care for "good" students but will reward those who demonstrate an effort to critically think about the material. He's not for everybody but if you don't mind a challenge this is the guy you want for your GE english classes.

Amazing professor and very educated. Makes you work HARD for your A. Intense teaching style. Never ending assignments. Witty and sarcastic. The best professor that I have had the delight of learning from. Learned a variety of writing skills during his course.

BAD TEACHER! Everyone was failing and he basically told us he was going to rank us at the end of the semester bc of how bad we were all doing. I wasn't going to take the time to studying my ass off just to fail! He teaches the class like we'er in Harvard! He gave me a 40 on a paper and told me it was a gift! This man needs to be fired!

Prof Harris is my favorite professor ever, his passion for the subject rubs off on you to the point where you find yourself doing those crossword puzzles on the weekends! He really left a huge positive impact on my life, his humor is genius to the point where it gets past most people to the point where they become offended. Amazing person.

I have never met a grown man as rude as him. I sat there while he let my classmate know he should be shot after telling another one he should be a slave because he will never amount to anything. College is hard but teachers typically want to teach you. This man will do all he can to fail you. If you only want to take ENG once, find another class.

he has to be one of the toughest professors i have ever taken. but I did love this class! he made me think deep into the stories and that had me thinking more outside of class. he was straight forward and tells you from day one what to expect. it was such a success to have passed his class. proud to have stuck through it.

This is quite possibly the best teacher I've ever had. He is upfront and he let's you know what he expects. Without wanting to sound esoteric, there are classes and teachers that you will remember for the rest of your life. This is one of them. I don't want a teacher who gives me a fish. I want a teacher that reaches me how to fish.

He can be a tough professor but I stayed through it and love it! Definetely expects his students to be a critical thinker. Everyone including me had low grades in the class but whoever sticked through it, their grades improved slow but consistently. But he knows who tries hard and really putting efforts. He gives you good grades on your report.

He is so strict! if you miss his class one day an assignment was due you get a 0 for that assignment and still have to pass it in to him not in class but make your way to his office before he accepts any more of your work. I would never take a calss with him again and if you ask him to look at a paper to see if your headed the right way he refuses.

Just don't take his class. You will end up withdrawing, failing, or sitting in a class with five people who decided to stick it out through his nonsense policy's. I forgot my back pack with one sentence typed out on a sheet, that was the homework, and I had to withdraw or he'd fail me.

I like the way he thinks but He has no mercy on his students. I was late by 15 minutes and he failed me for the course. He told the class he wants to see almost everyone withdraw. I didn't believe him at first when he said students see him and start running away. I plan on burning his class book for warmth.

This guy doesnt need to be teaching at a community college. If you are a person who hasn't had a difficult college class as of yet his class isn't the place to start challenging yourself b/c you probably won't pass. Interesting class, unnecessarily hard exams and no way for much redemption. Save time and take another class. Dont be a victim.

Very interesting teacher, you will learn lot if you put in the effort. Not for someone who has no interest in english, or someone who doesn't want to work for what you do. Miss one homework you're "off the curve" and will fail, but home work are one sentence review of a book. First class talks about how scary this class is, way different 2nd clas

many people do not like this guy. He is a hardass and if you mess up once i suggest you drop asap but if you are a strong student you will love this class. I loved this guy, he was hilarious and the best eng teacher ive ever had. understand that his audacity is his sense of humor.
