I took Amer. Drama as a gen ed. It wasn't an ultra-fascinating class, but Shout made it all right. Basically, you just have to read a bunch of plays, go to class, and remember what he tells you for the tests.

John is a really good guy. He's funny and doesn't mind when we poke fun with him. I find him to be very helpful with most every question I have in theatre. He's really laid back and runs his classes that way too but keeps a good pace going.

I took THE 106 with him and it honestly had to be the most boring class i've ever had to deal with in my life. There are no notes or powerpoints, he just lectures for the entire hour... my entire class basically takes a nice nap.

I took this ENG/THE class for American history credit & thought it was a lot more interesting than history. The hardest thing was reading a play for almost every class, but plays are truly enjoyable, even though I normally don't read. You're supposed to read all the plays, but most get by with reading a few. Aside work load is low-3 short papers.

I'd been so jazzed about the class but it fizzed out when I got there. I needed help but never felt like I could even talk to the guy. Didn't feel like I was learning how to do anything. I don't know if he plays favorites or what, but I dropped the class after a while out of self preservation.

He is a drama queen. Literally. He is a nice guy and is extremely passionate about the theatre. He is definitely in the right field. This class was easy and pretty interesting. This man is a walking encyclopedia. He knows EVERYTHING about the theatre.

He was very interesting... I liked the class, but I'm not a huge drama fan, so I probably didn't get the most that I could out of it... But, the readings weren't bad.. A lot of reading though!
