I took Dr. Sanders for Western Civ. He really cares about the information he is teaching and gets upset when it seems like the student doesn't care (to the point of crying once). He is usually available in his office if you need help. If you don't do the homework, you won't pass.

Comment:

Early Modern Europe with Professor Sanders was one the toughest classes I ever had, but also one of the most enlightening. A huge boost to my grasp of history. But be ready for serious work. If I lived near Shawnee I would love to take it again now that I have the maturity to appreciate it more.

Dr. Sanders is a great professor! He is incredibly helpful and truly cares about what he is teaching as well as the students he is teaching. He loves sitting and just talking to his students about their work and their lives. I thought to class would be hard but he made the material understandable and relatable to everyday life.

I expected Western Civ to be a hard course, and it was, but thanks to Dr. Sanders, I was able to understand the history portions and get at least a B on each exam. He was knowledgeable about the subject he taught and if you emailed him with a problem you had, he was more than willing to make an appointment to talk to you. Wonderful professor!

Dr. Sanders is an amazing professor! He is extremely helpful and he truly loves what he does and it shows! He gets so excited about history which makes me excited too! I really love him a lot! I would advise anyone to take him if you can! He's awesome!

I have mixed feelings about this professor. His approach to history is not my style. He loves societal history meaning you study birth records and crop rotation more than Kings and wars. He requires significantly more work than any other professor to be sucessful. He's a great man and lecturer but the work makes it not worthwhile.

One of the best professors I ever had. Able to communicate an enormous amount of knowledge and still keep students interested. Cares a great deal about all of his students. Recommend highly.

i hated listening to dr. sanders talk... he talked alot but never really said anything. he is really hard and expects too much from CIV students. he also believes himself to be a god of some sort... god of civ?

Comment:

Enthusiastic, charismatic, animated. He has an obvious and infective passion for history and brings it to life and relevance more than anyone else has for me. He is, however, a very tough grader. Be prepared to demonstrate your knowledge thoroghly. More date/chronology-oriented than most, too.

Not willing to help unless you bow down and worship him. Thinks way to highly of himself. He doesn't trust his students at all. All his free time is spent sitting in his office checking for forged papers. Kiss his butt like I did and you will get an "A"!!

Very sweet and intellectual. Has a deep, honest passion for history. Don't take his class if you are lazy or if you don't want to learn valuable things.
