Comment:

Prof Morris likes to weed out students who don't want to work hard. He is the toughest professor in the journalism school. He doesn't put up with nonsense and that goes for the administration too. If you can survive his classes, you can survive it in the real world.

Comment:

Little guidelines, tells you the requirements then later says "but that'll only get you a C or B," is disorganized and rude, OH and a formal complaint was filed against him that confirmed he is a negligent professor and he'll be on probation. They opened a new section with a new professor for most of the students halfway through. Don't take him.

Fabulous professor. Ivy League educated, former writer for Time and NY Post. Created The Word at Hunter. If you're willing to work HARD you'll learn more than most classes at Hunter. Creates opportunities for students not found elsewhere in college. Superb.

Worst.professor.ever... you MUST suck up to him in order to get a B, if your lucky. He constantly contradicts himself. He will tell you to correct something, you will correct it and then he will correct his own correction. He is very condescending. Hunter should be ashamed to let this man teach.

This professor is exceptional in the field of journalism. He has been in the newsroom and knows what he is talking about in class. He makes sure his students understand the material and encourages participation. He does care about his students that show interest in the field. Highly recommended. An A+ professor.

Not recommended! He crazy! It doesn't seem like he's out to help students, but to create hoops to jump through, because he gets some kind of perverse pleasure out of it. He has all kinds of weird caveats and very unclear requirements. Combative. Frustrating. He wants you to kiss his ass. Get another prof if you can - major chip on his shoulder.

People who say G. Morris is tough are pussies. He demands more of you than most HC profs, but if you do the work and are not a horrible writer, you will do well. If you don't do the work, or can't handle it, then you probably should give up any journalistic aspirations--the field is much more demanding than Morris is. Get used to life on Earth.

Amazing professor. Only those who are serious about journalism or those who are HARDWORKING students should take his class. All others, ex. lazy, whining, copy-catters, etc shouldn't bother because they're wasting both their time and professor Morris' time. Obviously those who didn't do the work or didn't work hard enough are complaining!

One of the best prof I have had at Hunter by far he is the reason I became interested in Journalism. Those students who complain are the same ones who did no work or very litte in class ou need to be prepared to work all those who gave negative feedback didnt do the work come on people he have you chances to redo work to get better grades A+ PROF

He's a tough grader but if you do the work, you'll do fine. My one gripe is, he wouldnt take a late paper, even though i had a family emergency and he never let me explain my situation. Do the readings! And participate as much as possible!!

Morris man really meets the "if you can't do, teach" theory. He obviously was an awful journalist who couldn't make it and therefore decided to teach and take out his anger on unsuspecting college students. If I had to take another class of his I would transfer schools to avoid it. I suggest you do the same.

Gregg morris taught me, a journalist wanna-be for 8 years, that journalism is the most despicable field next to marketing and real-estate. Not to mention that mr. morris is an uncouth, disrespectful man who tries so hard to seem smart. He loves the word "vitriolic" which is ironic since it describes him so well. He's a waste of brain power.

Took him for basic reporting and media ethics in one semester... he's awful! He forces his opinions on you, only likes your ideas when they agree with his, and he talks down to students. He constantly gives out F's like its his job. Dont bother asking him a question cause it most likely wont get answered in a helpful way.

This man's idea of a final exam is a review of one of our textbooks, written in a way that we, the students, would instruct the class for the next semester...Why are we doing his job for him?This man is so inept at teaching, he has no organization for his lessons...I advise anyone to take his class at their own risk.
