This class was the worst class I have ever taken. Lectures had no relevance to the tests and chapters that the test were on in the book helped with like 5/15 questions on the test. He only grades a few things so its very easy to get a low grade in this class. So glad Im done with this class

Threatened all of us in the beginning of semester giving us only two days to withdraw from class with a W otherwise we fail. Really boring Lectures. Had issues with submitting papers and even though i had proof from other teachers still docked me a letter grade. No homework at all, tests are worth 15 points, group project 20% of grade

The only way to fail this class is to be lazy and not study for tests. If you read the book and do the questions at the end there's really no way to fail this class. Make sure you study for his quizzes bc some quiz questions are direct questions from the review at the back of the book. The lectures are boring but overall he's a good fair teacher.

The whole class period is a lecture about things that are not on the test. The tests are only out of 15 questions so it's extremely easy to do bad, and considering there's only 4 tests, 2 papers, and one group project, it's even easier. Would not recommend. His syllabus says "My job is to serve as a resource, not a traditional classroom experience.

Professor Gordon is a nice guy , I took his online summer course. He is very good with responding when you have any concerns. If you take his course be ready to read tons of information. There's assigned chapters that require time so take his course alone. There's 4 exams that have to be done on campus, 2 papers, and extra credit discussions.

I have no idea why Professor Gordon has some negative reviews . I took him over this summer online. First of all, book is completely free , he posted it on blackboard. His syllabus is clear, with all due dates and expectation. If you read a book, won't be a problem. Gives extra credit if you participate in discussion (up to 10% of final grade).

The opportunity to gain extra credit was great and simple. The textbook was an online free-resource, also a huge plus. The professor was clear, responded to inquiries promptly, and was very helpful. I would recommend taking this course accelerated online or through the summer as most of the studying could be done at your own pace.

Barely receive feedback unless you make an appointment to go into his office. This was an online class thus a student never knew how to improve. Late in posting grade. Hard to communicate via email. Teacher does NOT participate in the discussion. More than half of the students dropped. Received main exam grade at the end of the year, midterm final

He spent the first month talking about Neanderthals (I'm in U.S History 1875-present.) His tests are 15 questions the class is only out of 100 points. We had a test on the cold war when he didn't even teach us about it. His tests have huge words that are hard to understand. I almost fall asleep during his lectures every day. Don't take his class!!!

The exams are simple and based off free eBook he requires, just use the chapter review questions and you'll do decently. I think the papers are simple (only two pages of actual writing) as I got full points on all of them, I think it's just that people suck at following directions and writing them. Lectures can be dry. Never docked me for attendanc

This class was only 8 weeks long to start. He is very clear on what information needs to be presented. He doesn't want any personal opinions put into any of your writing. I found it easy to do the discussion board posts, but the reply posts were difficult because there was nothing to actually discuss. Do not expect to get a 100 on anything/

The class is broken up into four exams (15 questions each), two term papers (10 points each), and a group project (20 points). Each point is a percentage of your final grade, which makes every assignment very high risk. Tests were ENTIRELY from the book, so there's no point in ever attending one of his lectures. Papers have silly rules to them.

Professor Gordon is a really nice professor and has a lot of knowledge about history. During the class, all he does is lecture the entire time. There is a multiple choice or essay choice for every test. It is necessary to read the online textbook to help prepare for tests. He never assigns homework, only two papers and a group project at end.

Professor Gordon is highly intelligent and very knowledgable about anything history related. He assigns almost no assignments and grades fairly easy. The only negative aspect of this class/professor is that his tests are usually based on the ebook and not his lectures. I don't usually enjoy history but he made it a lot more intriguing.

Comment:
Mr. Gordon was incredibly knowledgeable about history, but doesn't exactly know how to relay his intelligence to a classroom setting. Gives no homework, no study guides, and doesn't remind students about upcoming assignments. Papers and tests are both relatively easy, but be prepared to teach yourself most of the chapters in the course.

When it comes to assignments you'd better make sure that you are aware of when the assignment is due because there is no reminder what so ever. There is never any mention of any assignment even when he "assigns it." There is a difference between helping us become responsible adults and leaving us completely in the dark.

Took this class on-line and if you keep up with the work load, not too bad, but don't expect any help from the Prof, so you best be a self learner. He is terrible at responding to emails. I would send emails with multiple questions and he would only respond to 1 of the questions. Good news is book was an e-book, and free.

Gregory Gordon is the most formal professor I have ever had. He is overly knowledgeable about history, lectures the entire class without skipping a beat. He is extremely prepared each day from start to finish. The tests are relatively short but are over a span of multiple chapters. I suggest you take heavy notes and look over the textbook.

I like him as a person and is really easy to talk too. His lectures fascinate me because he knows everything from the beginning of time to now. But, you have to be prepared to take notes and this will be 6-7 pages. If you like history, he is like a god to you then. If you there to knock a credit out, you might be bored.

The class is interesting and Mr. Gordon is very knowledgeable. YES you have to read the book, but he makes that very clear on the first day of class. There are 4 tests, 2 papers and a group project, and expectations are made clear in the syllabus.
