Comment:
Great teacher - I took him for 455 and I had a good time. The class was like 80 minutes long and mostly lectures so it got difficult to pay attention at some times.. It's fun talking about current issues. Problem sets and tests were difficult but manageable - would've been helpful to do more of those in class.

Great Professor! Really smart and lectures off the top of his head without any notes. Tries to discuss current issues during class. His tests are hard but if you show up to class and look at his previous exams you can do really well.

Econ 455 is largely considered the hardest undergraduate economics course at ISU. The material is hard but Lapan tells you exactly what you need to know to do well. One of the smartest/interesting professors I know, does all his lectures sans notes.

This guy is epic smart and is obviously a cash researcher. His class was hard, but demanding in a very satisfactory way. He's interesting in lecture and the things he can do with graphs are amazing. Lots of math on the problem sets and you have to rush on the tests, but he gives this massive curve that makes a good grade possible. Recommended too.

Hard subject material, but Prof. Lapan is wicked smart. He does things with graphs you can't belive. My advice for any class he teaches is buy multi-colored pens for your notes, it sounds silly but do it, it helps.

Brilliant economist, so the class is pretty tough. There is a decent curve, though. Tests are very straightforward (just like the old tests he posts online) yet still manage to be difficult. Very helpful with answering questions, but his explanations will often go over your head (so be sure to ask until you understand!).
