Comment:

Professor Hicks is one of the nicest professors that I have ever met. He clearly explains everything, in fact he explains so clearly that one complaint I have heard was he moves slow. This does not bother me! Also, he gives plenty of bonus quizzes which can allow you to get 10 extra points on exams! Homework is minimal, and the book is unnecessary.

One of the best professors I have ever had. If you have issues with math definitely try to take him. He will explain everything until you understand. Gives extra credit quizzes that don't count against you if you do bad, but they can give up to 10 points extra per exam. Has review sessions prior to every exam that really help!

Great teacher! Very patience and always happy to help. Homework counts as a grade so start doing it as soon as you start the class. This is a very hard class I was an A student until I started this class. You better study a lot! but the teacher is really good is just a fast paced and dificult content course.

Wonderful teacher, although I must admit I love math. Clear presentations, gives notes, didn't need the book. Not much homework compared to college algebra. Would definitely take him again given the chance.

He was ok. He was very nice and patient. He would mess up a lot while doing the problems on the board, I think I got the answer right before he did. His tests are pretty easy. He doesn't require you to be in class every day but give extra credit for people who show up. Overall he was good.

Mr. Hicks was a very nice old man who was very easy to work with. He loves math and tries to pass that on to you as well. Gives you all of the notes and helps with homework. Also, gives extra credit quizzes that help your 5 exam grades!

Comment:

Hicks is a very nice man. He provides notes (worth $2.65), and it makes up the entire class, but that's the downfall. Make sure you know how to work out the problems on your own instead of "filling in the blanks" in his notes. You need to know how to work out every problem on his test (kinda hard). It's a great class but PAY ATTENTION.

this guy was absolutely horrible. dont bother asking him any questions, if you do he finds a way to answer it with a completely different topic that has no relevance to what you asked. over explains things to the point were it's confusing.Biased.tests are not multiple choice, and what he teaches is different from what ends up on the test.SUCKS.

I had him for college algebra and he thoroughly prepared me for the higher up math classes (in calc 2). He was easy if you study. He was a great professor and all students who did not have the chance to take him missed out. He just retired last spring.

BEST math teacher EVER! If you don't understand any math, you will get it after one class with this man. I got 33% or lower on my math quizes last semester. Now I'm getting 100%. He goes very slow, like he's teaching 5 year olds - which is great! The idea of not having him for every other math class in the future gives me great anxiety!

Comment:

Loves teaching the subject. What at times may seem difficult (Business Calculus) he explains it as many times as seems necessary for people to understand. Always there when a students asks a question and is always willing to help. While at time class might get boring since he repeats a lot of things, it help in learning.
