I'm currently taking this class and its the hardest class I have ever taken. I study and still don't seem to understand the subject matter. He has never referred to the book and he doesn't give hand outs. While speaking to the other students we have all agreed that we have to look up the subject matter on the internet in order to understand it.

I love this professor. He's hilarious! I thoroughly enjoy this class (currently taking it, two weeks until finals). He definitely makes you work for your grade... but seriously, just show up and take GOOD notes. LET ME POINT OUT- every slacker in my class has an F, and every engaged and studious note-taker has an A or B. Coincidence?

If your going to take world religions then stay away from this one. Attendance is super mandatory. He lectures the whole time in a soft, quiet voice that will make you want to blow your brains out. He uses and posts no powerpoints, and his tests go off his lectures,so there is no book or powerpoint to refer to when studying for the tests. Stay away

Absolutely the worst professor I've ever had and a waste of time. I was thinking religious studies was enlightening and informative of different cultures and beliefs but I felt like I was in hell! He just tells stories the entire time, gets completely off topic saying dumb jokes that are frankly not funny. You can learn more from Google

He is very interesting and has a lot of stories to tell. Can be very vague when it comes to assignments and goes off on tangents that don't necessarily pertain to the topics. He's very personable and his lecture style reflects on it.

I really enjoyed coming to his class every week. He's really funny and tries to make each religion as clear as he can. Its a non-interactive lecture tho, meaning he talks 100% of the class. Tests are not hard if you show up to every class and study for them. Don't be afraid by peoples ratings, this is college- do you HW and study & you'll do great!

Mixed feelings about J Weseloh III.... Class is entertaining and fun, but he doesn't have an acct on Blackboard so you don't know your grade until grades come out. This class is literally a lecture-only class. Class starts: He talks. Class ends: You leave.... Nothing in between. But if you go to class and take a lot of notes you will be fine.

He goes off topic a lot, and is very monotone when speaking so it's easy to get side tracked. ALL MATERIAL that's going to be on tests/hw is from his lectures&it's hard to sit there for 3hr writing notes-NO HANDOUTS besides hw. He gives his tests back the next class but makes u wait til the END. HE makes a lot of things difficult just to do it.

I loved J. Weseloh the third. He's hysterical, and very passionate about what he is teaching. He had me laughing out loud all the time. He's awesome. I would recommend this class to anyone who is interested in different cultures/traveling. Overall very entertaining and interesting class.

He is a good instructor, and his test are fairly easy IF you take good notes. Attendance is important. No need to purchase the book since the tests are based on his lectures. Again, the key is take good notes. What you think is not relevant will be on the test, so write out his lectures or record them.

The class itself was interesting. But the test were ridiculous. I understand that this was college level but 3 whole religions on one test was nuts. Don't take this class unless you have a lot of time to dedicate to it, and the ability, to take very detailed notes. He tried to hard to be funny and was a hard ass on attendance.

Very tedious class with an excellent professor. The work is HARD and studying for this class becomes very time consuming. He does however, make the class VERY entertaining, interesting and knows his material so well it's almost ridiculous. If your ready to study and work hard take him. He is amazing.

I think that children should not go to college. Maybe in high school kids get out on time, but college is different. Show up on time, take notes, listen and don't sleep like a baby who needs a lil knappy and you'll do fine. Grow up people!

I absoulutely loved this class. Its definetly challening & you need to be there every class. The information he goes over is not in the book. Many were offended over his representations which i found were a result of practicing people with skewed ideas. Hes open and gives educated representations. If you don't have an open mind, dont take this class.

I think he's brilliant! Class is not mandatory, but you really don't want to miss a lecture. Most of the information doesn't come from the book, so you'll need to be there and expect to take plenty of notes. He makes class so interesting that you'll want to be there anyway!

I really REALLY enjoy this class. I actually look forward to going each week. Jay is an amazing storyteller and he makes the class very interesting. He is witty and knows his subject extremely well. Maybe he let classes out late in the past, but we have always gone on time, and I have never seen him get upset at anyone for being late.
