When I started Dr. Bells critical thinking class, I didn't care about school and I was damn near flunking out. But the way Dr bell is, he doesn't just allow you to flunk his class, he bothers you until you put in effort. After his class, my grades in all my other classes went up, changed my life. I'm about to get my doctorate now 6 yrs l8r. Thank u

In Dr. Bells class the highest grade you can get is a B. That is, unless you take on an A project. Option 1: read three books & write lengthy reports about them. Option 2: fill out a questionnaire w/ invasive questions. QUESTIONS INCLUDE: Details about first sexual experience, toilet training experiences, did you sleep in your parents bed?

literally the hardest teacher you could probably get on top of extremely tough curriculum. this class gave me several breakdowns and almost stop me from transferring to salisbury. But to be honest I learned a lot about work ethic and doing what ever it takes.

I got to say, if it were not for Dr. Bell, i would have gotten my associates degree before I transferred. Because they require two classes that are only taught by him i had no choice but to take them. He is not clear about the material, does not give good feedback on your assignments, and cannot clearly answer a simple question that is asked.

There is not really a textbook necessarily, but there are packets and worksheets. A FULL TO THE GILLS 3.5 inch binder worth.

He thinks that his way is the right way to do things, and his idea of what courses should be like is extremely skewed. I would never take his class again

Very hard class, but you will learn SO much. It's a very individual course that challenges you to take responsibility outside of class. There's a lot of homework, but at the end of the semester you'll be a lot better at academic skills.

Very helpful to help improve thinking. It's a tough course and there is no way around not doing the homework unless you want to fail. It has improved my thinking quite a bit and has helped me to realize my potential.

He gives hours of homework a night, he expects you to make this class your priority over other classes, you are also rewarded with extra work if you happen to miss class, in this way attendance is mandatory.

I had Dr. Bell for four classes back in 00,01. He was hard, demanding, uncompromising, and god help you if you have a different opinion, (since he wrote the books) BUT I grudgingly respected him, learned a lot about research, and went on to get my bachelors in biology and psychology. Looking back, what I learned from him was integral to my success.

You learn skills that you can carry into life, but there is alot of homework with this course. Expect no less than 6-8 hours of homework a week. This professor expects you to put this class above other classes, there is no final exam but there is a quiz every class period almost.

His teaching style clearly demonstrates that he just doesn't feel like putting in the work to teach his students. He expects the students to read everything on their own, discuss with each other in class, and then move on to the next thing. I probably learned 3 things about psychology. It's a class on how to pass his class. Drop while you can.

Dr. Bell is an amazing person and has many inspirational and innovative ideas, however, his teaching methods are lacking. He can be very unclear about what is expected, does not tell you the answers clearly so that you may learn. I did not learn much from this class except how to participate more and be able to talk more during my other classes.
