Comment:

Mr. Blake is honestly a sweet old man, however I just do not like his teaching style. We would always have pop quizzes, they weren't too bad if you paid attention. His lectures were long and boring in my opinion. He wants you to pass I just wish he could give the info in a better way that actually makes you want to learn the material.

He's not a bad guy but he wasn't meant to teach. His lectures are insanely dry and aren't helpful at all when trying to understand the material. Good luck when asking him how you can prepare for his tests because he will just say "the notes" which are long outlines of each chapter! Quizlet was practically my professor for this class.

His tests are all based on the notes but his notes are 10 pages long. He takes his time going through the notes, until the end of the semester, then he tries to rush through the last 2 tests. My class ended up having to take our last exam before the final ONE class period before. Horrible class, would never take a class with him again

I sat in the front and payed attention and still didn't help. All he does is blab about his wife and kids all day and gets off topic. Then when he realizes it clicks in brain and starts reading straight word for word from the power point. Quizzes for every chapter. Test for every 3-5 chapters. Basically you sign up if you want to teach yourself.

He was TERRIBLE. He didn't value anyone's opinion and he pushed his own down your throat. He never ended class on time and got mad when you'd get up to leave when it was supposed to be done. I will never take another class from him. I have told others to STEER CLEAR of him.

I think Mr. Blake is a very friendly, caring person! I took two of his classes and they are not difficult, they just require that you read the book as well as the notes! After every chapter you're given a 10 question true-false quiz, so I wouldn't say it's a "surprise."

He is kind of boring, but the class is so easy. He is an old man, but very helpful. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BOOK! sometimes he tells you things that are wrong, he favors people who sit near the front of the room, i currently have a 98 in his class and sit on the second row.

HE IS REALLY BORING!!! All he does is go off on rants about politics and gets into word fights with students that dont agree with him. He talks about his family a lot which does not relate to any of the material that we needed to know. He would talk about food and his wives cooking instead of course topics!

I usually do not listen to these posts, but he is not a very good teacher. He clearly favors the females. His tests are about what he thinks the answer is not what the actual answer is. And yes all he talks about is his family and cooking. He is a good person though, just not a good teacher.

To pass mr blake's class you need to be able to teach yourself. i took him for intro to sociology and that's what i had to do. he lectures the entire time, and it's not helpful. he provides notes, and the book is well written, so u can teach yourself. Be ready for a lot of reading and maybe even getting a study group together.

Mr. Blake is an incredible professor who likes to see students do well. He admires classroom participation, a well thought comment, and showing some enthusiasm for learning. Attend his classes if you are ready to study the material and learn something about the world you live in. If you want grades handed to you for looks then this is not for you.

The class was simple. No homework besides a four page article review. All we are graded on are weekly quizes, and tests. If you show a moderate amount of attention to the course material than you will be fine. I've got an A, take this teacher.

Blake was great! I really enjoyed the class, it was very interesting. He knows his stuff very, VERY well. If you show up and are interested and do what he says, you will do well. The notes he provides did not help me at all, I did much better with just reading the book. He does tend to get off subject very badly, but if you read, you will be fine!

Mr. Blake can get off track with the events that are in that day’s paper. He failed to keep up with his syllabus and crammed in 4 chapters and 2 test in the last week and a half. He knows his stuff and cares about his students. I would take his class again. You must read his notes to do well on his "best answer" test when two or more may be correct
