GWC's sociology program will suck without this prof. He was understanding, involved, and genuinely interesting. Loved both his classes so much. Anyone who did poorly chose to do so, as his expectations were clear and reasonable. Gonna miss him!

First of all, it is expected that reading is required in all college courses so expect to read for this class. His exams appear difficult because he does not discuss any lecture or entail what is going to be on the exam. My advice: READ and WRITE hearty essays. He's a great professor, wish he taught more sociology courses.

i came to this class thinking this guy is a peice of cake bc of wat i read. HE IS FREAKING hARD. HIS TESTS ARE IMPOSSSIBLE. He is an absolutely amazing teacher! If you take psych 110, you will want to take his family and marriage class also. He is very interested in the classes opinion and would always call on people that would refuse to talk. Tests are easy. Take it with a friend to share the cost of the book because its only for the 3 tests.

Professor Long is excellent. His class really does help you come out of your shells. He is supportive about things that scare you, but his class helps you face them. His Soc 110 class is very fun and evolves a lot of sharing and getting to know your classmates. Really great teacher and easy to talk to. You really get what you put in.

If you like to participate in class & hear others voice their opinions, then this is the class for you. He lectures but its up to you to take notes or not; he won't tell you to. There is 1 group project & little hw to do. he gives 3 exams which are ok. Attendence is not really mandatory but it will help if you are on the borderline of a grade.

He's a really interesting teacher. Psych110 is pretty easy to get a good grade in. Gives you hw but two classes to turn it in. 1 main paper with ends up being the final. Does a lot of personal "soul searching", he helps you learn a lot about yourself. Somehow you end up becoming close and friends with your classmates at the end.

Jim Long is a great teacher to have! :) I usually prefer online courses, but I always looked forward to his class. He grades on attendance, participation, a few short assignments, one group presentation, and 3 exams. Read the text and you should get an A on the exams. Pay attention to the syllabus b/c essay ?s are based mostly on that material. :)
