This was not an easy class but I managed to get a C. I did attend class, he is so nice and funny. He is passionate about the subject so that was helpful. I did have to study for test but he gives you all the information you need. Do NOT skip class and study and you will pass! I gave him a chili because he wondered why he didn't have one :)

Totally the greatest I've had. Awesome guy, been teaching for a long time, and his teaching style rocks. Uses entertaining powerpoints, but enhances his teaching rather than replaces it. Always starts off the class by taking you around the world and then ties it into the lesson. Always gives you specific page #s to study if you choose to. RECOMMEND

I have taken this Reck for 2 different classes. he is a great teacher, but his tests are VERY hard. if you want to pass (at minimm) go to every cass and take very detailed notes. he doesnt take role and he is very interesting.. like i said, his tests are extremely difficult and its hard to get an A

Very hard, you must take notes feverishly and read the book extensively or you will do poorly in this class. He is reluctant to give you any study prep. He actually yelled at me when I asked a benign question.

Professor Reck is the coolest professor in the world. Hes hilarious and he has a million stories. I took his class because it was all i could get into but it turned out to be my favorite class. His powerpoints and lectures are very entertaining. The tests are hard but if you read the book and take good notes you will do fine. TAKE HIM

I read every chapter, I attended every class and I took detailed notes and I still failed every test I took in this class. His lectures can be interesting, but he does little to prepare you for what to expect on the test. I would not recommend this instructor at all.

the class is hard but the teacher is nice. he tries his best to make his point as clear as he can. i suggest take very good notes and use it as a guideline when reading. you would definitely need to read for this class.5 test and he drops the lowest. or you can miss two test and the final would can as 2 test.

Very nice, warm-hearted professor but his exams were extremely hard. I had to withdraw in order to save my GPA, and I have to return to this course to make it up some other time. If you're not interested in the class-drop it ASAP or don't enroll. Reading is extensive and sometimes requires multiple readings in order to understand.

NOT AN EASY A. Reck is so cool, but his tests were hard. If you take the class: 1) buy the book, don't rent it. 2)Read before you come to class. 3) Take the class with friends, make a study group. 4) STUDY! You wont pass if you don't put extra effort to understand.

I didn't have too much of an interest in physical geography before taking this class, but Mr. Reck made it interesting. It is true that it requires a lot of studying and taking notes, but if you do all that you should pass with a decent grade. I learned A LOT. I recommend it 100% but don't expect an easy A.

Comment:

Professor Reck is funny and entertaining, but his tests were very difficult. If you take him buy the textbook don't rent it, because you will need to mark it up during lecture. Go to every class or you'll fall behind. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! Don't take class if you don't have interest in the subject, or you will struggle like I did.

This is the second most difficult class that I've taken, after physics. I tried to study and I went to tutoring but I scored low D's on all of my exams. I just wasn't getting it. I will probably have to retake it if I don't get a C on the exam. 65% is counted as a C so that helps if you have that grade.

Prof Reck is one of the best geography professors I have ever had. He gives great examples during his lectures and will clarify things if one doesn't understand. Although lecture is not mandatory, I recommend it if you want to get a good grade at all. Take his class if you want someone who really appreciates the subject. He's also a nice guy!

This class is so hard. I have to retake it and he is the only teacher teaching it. I know it's a big class, but class participation would help to reiterate things in lecture and I wish he would answer questions. He does all the talking and it's upsetting. READ & STUDY & ATTENDANCE is a MUST DO!! Study Group Recommended. (Take it with Friends)

This class is not easy at all. it requires a lot of studying. you must show up to all his lectures because some of his questions will be based of your notes that you get in class. you definitely have to read the book if you don't read the book you wont pass the class. highly recommend getting with a study group. studying on your own won't be enough

He's fun, and his teaching way is understandable . He always make the class laugh by telling the story from his own experience in Geography .Exams are hard with multiple choices(4), the last one is optional for the one who missed 1 of the others 4.Need to attend to the class for exams and read the book before coming to the class.

Mr Reck is a super adorable older man who happens to be a fun teacher to learn from. He has many wonderful stories - mainly about Africa - that he incorporates in his lecture. Most of the information in his tests are from the textbook, so you'll want to be familiar with it. Read, study, review, do the assignments, and there will be no problem passing.

This class is pretty hard. If you are looking for an easy A this ain't the class to be in. Sure he's funny and all but you have to study a lot and memorize lots of terms. There are no curves, no extra credit, just the best 4 out of 5 exams. I passed his 100 class with a C, but this class is difficult. Wish he gave extra credit.
