Comment:

Dr. Childs is one of the most brilliant and passionate professors I have had. She is crystal clear on her instructions, communicates with helpful feedback and ways to improve, she includes videos in curriculum and tools to best retain the information, and is willing to help. IF you do the work on time, take good notes, and participate, good!

Comment:

The class is easy because you use the book for the most part, but assignments that you turn in to be graded by her are difficult. She grades assignments like everyone is an English major and when she gives feedback, all she says is there are grammatical errors. She offers no suggestions on where the errors are or how to fix them.

Comment:

She was an okay professor. The main reason why I would not take her online course is because of the online group project. I received a zero for this project regardless of me doing my part in the assignment, but because my partners did not participate and do their part. This caused me to fail the course and Dr. Childs was unforgiving about this.

Comment:

She's a good teacher. Her tests comes straight from her lectures, so DO NOT MISS CLASS! You don't really need your book. She only teaches about 30% out of the book. Her tests cover a lot of information, but if you take good notes over her lectures, you'll do fine. She's pretty understanding about missing quizzes or exams, and gives extra credit.

Straight forward class. You take notes, she gives you a study guide, and take the test. Total of 4 test and 4 quizzes. Lots of bonus points. Take advantage of it. She can get a little boring, but like I said the class is pretty straight forward. Yes take her.

Nice lady, but very dry. She gives you exactly what to write for your notes, and gives handouts and study guides. The material is pretty easy but I didnt like the way she tests. Lots of essay questions and sometimes things are worded tricky. She wasnt bad, wasnt good.

Sweet woman, obviously passionate about humanities. Not much classwork, study guides for tests weren't very clear and didn't have much to do with the actual tests. Not a blow off class but not extremely hard. Does not tolerate cellphone usage or tardiness.

This class was pretty hard. It's a lot of information to cover and learn, but there's only 4 quizzes and 3 tests and the last one isn't comprehensive. Prof. Childs is really sweet and helpful, her subject just isn't for everyone. If you study the material a lot, it's possible to get an A. It just takes a lot of work and effort.

I personally did not care for her class (often boring and too long) yet it was not difficult. She basically gives you all the information you need to pass her tests if you come to class and take notes and then study them. Her personality grew on me as the year went on but overall she was a decent teacher.

Though I found her intimidating at first, she turned out to be extremely nice, funny, and, like another commenter said, classy. She also sparked in me an appreciation for art that I never knew I had. What more can you ask for in a professor?

I LOVE HER! she's so sweet and the study guides she gives are like a copy of the tests. all those people that rated her poorly probably didn't even try. You guys this is college, not a play ground. your A won't be handed to you!

Very nice lady! The subject is pretty boring, and sometimes class is as well but she tries to make it interesting. You can tell she really knows what she is teaching and loves it. Not hard, just study a little bit. I never read any of the reading assignments and ended up with an A. I would recommend her.

She was a very hard professor that didn't know much about the subject she is teaching and she didn't help the class out at all. She would come in with an attitude a lot of the days which to the akward in her class because she tended to make class very akward. Don't take her she is HORRIBLE teacher and she doesn't even care about that!

Horrible professor! She doesn't know what she's talking about half the time. She spends more time on calling people while using there cell phones then she does actually teaching the class knowing that her class is already very difficult and impossible to understand! She won't work with you or help you! Useles professor.

Terrible teacher, her lisp makes understanding incomprehensible. She knows her stuff. Tests are exactly like how the review she hands are (word for word). Changed the book on us 3 weeks into the course. Seems confused a lot of the time.

She is such a nice lady. I would definitely take her again. Tests are somewhat hard, I studied for an hr or 2 before the tests and passed easily. No homework, only a few quizzes and tests and an easy presentation. its a boring subject, so the class is boring. she def. knows her stuff and teaches it well. take!

She was really helpful, the tests are fill in the blank so you have to be sure to know the names and how to spell them. Make sure to study hard for the first tests because she doesn't offer much extra credit. But she is a good teacher I would recommend her to anyone.
