Comment:

Papers will have no rubric, will tell you he sent documents to you when he never did. He can't even work a copier machine let alone send an email with readings for class. Students are forced to learn and purchase technology at this school yet he tells us no computers and can't even have a syllabus on the first week of class.

Honestly, he is an easy A. If you occasionally take notes, get on his good side and look over the study guides he gives, you'll be fine. His lectures can be boring but he's pretty funny overall. Normally you have 3 tests, a presentation, and a final paper for all your grades

Comment:

Great poly-sci teacher, terrible French teacher. He expects the students to be a natural speaker (like himself). Only took quizzes, and had random details mentioned rarely or not at all. Had material on the final that was never taught. I will have him again for French 110. But he is witty, sassy, and a great guy- just a bad teacher.

I absolutely love JPL. He is completely ridiculous, sassy, intelligent and your stereotypical Frenchman. Challenging him with both logic and wit, while occasionally stroking his ego, earns you some solid brownie points. Don't be afraid to speak your mind - you shouldn't take the insults to heart, but do believe the compliments.

One of the rudest people I've ever come in contact with. This class was a complete joke. Had us watch a movie then had a quiz to see if we payed attention with one of the questions being "What was the cat's name?" Made fun of students in the class, would have dropped it if I could.

He is a seriously hard grader but super fair and willing to be lenient in certain situations. His "quizzes" absolutely require to know the readings and to pay super close attention in the class. His papers, although 8 pages, are not too hard and can be chosen from a variety of different topics. One must remember to be very specific though.

JP Lalande is a boss. Hands down, my favorite professor at Moravian College. I took FREN 110 in the spring and loved it. If you can take a class with Lalande, go for it! He's willing to help you in any way he can if you're struggling, but he'll admire you if you're as witty as he is :)

Professor Lalande is an absurd human being, and an insanely HARD professor. He wears the same sweater to each class, calls his exams "quizzes" and puts the most minute un-important details on them. His grading is indiscriminant and he does not explain your grade if you ask him. Read ALL the books thoroughly if you dare to take his class.

Dr. Lalande is a brilliant man, one of the greatest professors i have ever been taught by. He knows EVERYTHING, seriously, everything! its amazing.. true, his 'quizzes' are insanely hard, but he really does teach everything on them. I recommend his euro history class to anyone, you will learn sooo much. he's great.

funny, nice guy. His classes are mostly lectures and usually last 10 minutes longer than they are supposed to. Ditto on what everyone else says- a 5 page quiz is actually a test and an 8 page paper is not short!

Jean-pierre is great. Very funny and down to earth. Some students struggle with his accent but he is a great professor and you will have fun in his courses
