This professor thinks that we have only his class. He is so obsessed with native Indians . After taking his class I was so overhelmed that I just cannot stand to learn anything about native Indians. He is very arrogant so have a great attendance and do your homework.

He is a very straightforward, sincere professor, and does not play mental games with you. He does assign more reading that many other professors, and while there is no fault in being rigorous, it can be difficult to cover all books in depth in a semester. That aside, your work will benefit from his courses.

Comment:

Overall the class was interesting but I wish we could've gone in more depth on the different indian tribes. I felt that one of the biggest weaknesses in the class was the long lectures. The lectures contained great material but lecturing for an entire class period especially a 3 hour period becomes a bore quickly.

He is an amazing professor! His class is really easy and he makes the subject really interesting! I was not a big fan of history until I took his class. He is very passionate about history. Plus we don't take exams in his class. We have group debates instead and they are alot of fun.

Class was simple, i was absent a few times but i never opened the book and passed with a c. Overall based on my performance id say that paying attention is about 70-80% of what your tested on, if i had read the book i would of probably gotten an A. Easy A if you ask me and if you actually try, iTS A Simple class just do the work be responsible.

I took both 1301 and 1302 with Dr. Shepherd cause I liked him so much. He makes the subject really interesting because he's so passionate. The class itself is pretty easy: he gives study guides before exams and offers lots of extra credit.

he is one of the most intelligent men i've ever met. he is very passionate about everything that he teaches. i loved his class! he makes history interesting and appealing to just about anyone. He expects to get the best out of every student, and despite the fact thhat the classes are large, he is student-oriented. All that, and he is totally HOT!

Excellent teacher but to stay on top you have to pay attention, do your work, come to class and attend review sessions and u can get an A like me I'm not usually an A student but he was very helpful and I highly recomend him.

I would recommend any history majors to take American Indian history with Prof. Shepherd! The class is interesting, and his teaching method is varied-lectures, PowerPoint, debates, ect. Be prepared to work!
