Comment:

Prof Mellow was an amazing instructor. She made everybody feel comfortable which is imperative in a public speaking class. Textbook used for online quizzes only, final is a written paper, & speeches given had clear grading criteria & outline examples for all of them. Very easy class if you prepare for speeches & show up! Engaging & beneficial.

Comment:

Take speech with Prof. Lynch (Mellow)! She is so kind and a pretty easy grader! She made me and all my classmates feel comfortable while speaking. She is funny and entertaining! The textbook was used for online quizzes only. The speeches were not too long and she was pretty lenient on the grading. No in class final, just a written paper!

Comment:

Professor Lynch (Mellow) is my favorite professor of all time! She makes the class feel like a little family and cares so much for her students success. She always has good examples of what the speeches should look like and sound like. Her syllabus is spot-on with what you do in the semester too. 10/10 Would take again!

Comment:

Jennifer is a great professor. She genuinely wants everyone to succeed. If you are nervous about public speaking, this is your class. There is a lot of reading in the beginning and quite a bit of research for the last couple speeches but deadlines are spread out so you have enough time to complete each assignment.

Professor Mellow (previously Lynch) was such a joy to be around. She gives you a clear cut syllabus that she follows directly. You NEED to attend or else your grade will be greatly effected. Make sure to do the online quizzes on time, and complete every outline! Overall pretty easy class, she's sometimes kinda moody but its all good.

Incredibly funny, encouraging, and overall very interesting professor. The way her class runs is very clear. Keep in mind that if you don't do your work or if you obviously didn't even try to do well on your speech, she will be very petty about it, and it can get uncomfortable. Just do the work, prepare your speech a little, and you'll be golden.

She is a very compassionate, funny, and interesting teacher and her class is very enjoyable. However, she can sometimes embarrass and single students out after their speech for their feedback and it makes me feel uncomfortable. She grades fairly easy and gives a good amount of homework and quizzes.

I was originally enrolled in a different GEO102 class but the ratings for Professor Lynch were so outstanding that I switched last minute and I'm glad that I did! Take her for GEO 102! You won't regret it. She really does everything to make her students successful. Put your phones away while in class, pay attention, and you won't fail. She rocks!!!

I went into this class terrified but Professor Lynch created a great and safe environment for all students! She is hilarious and very knowledgeable about everything she is teaching! Highly recommend this class!

I don't normally review professors, but this by far was the best professor I have ever had. Genuinely wants you to improve, and is always prepared, interesting and funny. Although I did not get an A, she did inspire me to declare my major to communications -- I truly believe THAT is the real affect of a great professor.

Lynch's class is fairly easy, in that I mean if you do the work you pretty much should get the grade that you expect. There is tons of speeches for her class but she takes time to explain every single one of them and she tells you upfront what she expects.

Lynch is an amazing professor. If you can choose get her for GEO because she makes the class so fun. She is easy to talk to so don't be afraid to talk and joke with her and the other students. She grades pretty easy on your speeches and you actually learn a whole lot. Honestly one of the best classes because she is amazing.

She was a really good professor overall. If you asked for help she would usually help you. She calls students out sometimes so beware if you don't like constructive criticism but it helps. You take quizzes each week on CougarCourses but they're pretty easy

Very passionate about the class! Wants students to do well. Gives great feedback for you to improve next time. Lots of speeches, but you'll survive. Got a little bit more comfortable will public speaking. She's a fantastic teacher! Very easy to talk to and nice! Listen well and put in effort, and you'll get a good grade.

absolutely wonderful teacher! I have her for speech and she is one of the kindest human beings ever! I have gotten an A on all my speeches. Highly recommend having her for speech!!!!

very clear when it comes to directions for speeches and is clear when giving feedback on what to work on. Provides outlines for the speeches (I suggest you look at them) There are quizzes on the chapters from the text book but she opens them the first week of school. I did them all at once so I would not have to worry about it. Not many lectures.

She is an amazing professor that clearly loves her job, but be warned, disrespect her classroom and she'll turn on you. Respect her and she gives it back, super simple.
