Have to give a fair review, yes it is a hard class, but this is also the best STAT class I took at PSU.

The first exam was fairly easy with average around 80, but the second and final exams averages which in total count for 70 percent of the grade were around 50. Luckily she gives a huge curve which boost me up from C to B+

Jia goes through the material quick and the board is always a mess so its hard to follow. First exam was easy since it was based on stat414. On the 2nd midterm (based on new material) the average grade dropped considerably. The final is worth 50% of our grade (yes, I said 50). There was also a huge curve at the end (my grade went from 60 to 80)

The exams were very hard, but she curved the whole class. The lecture was useful.

Worst stat professor ever. She gives ridiculously hard and tricky exams. Final exam accounts for 50% of the grade. I just so regret that I didn't drop this class.

Her first two exams are not hard at all. If you took MATH/STAT 414 probability course then 1st exam should be very easy. Second is not that hard either, as long as you do all the homeworks and go over the lecture notes. She does difficult problems in class, but they are not on the exams. The Final is very hard, but I think she curved it.

Dr. Li is a good professor. She understands the material she teaches to an amazing level. She teaches pretty much off the top of her head and can answer questions clearly and directly. Exams are are not easy, but they are fair. Homework assignments are reasonable also. I had no problem understanding her accent. Textbook was AWFUL.

She graduated from Stanford but she is quite easy with the homework and exams. There are hints for each homework set and sample exams to study from. Her accent might be difficult to deal with but she tries hard. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Comment:
First off, the material seems impossible due to the cryptic text book we use as well as the cryptic professor we have. Her teaching style consists of reading out of the text book and her accent makes it even more difficult. Horrible.
