Comment:

Rude toward students, demeaning, unnecessarily harsh and anxiety inducing. Inconsistent teaching - often contradicts herself or changes information from textbook. Requires students to teach themselves material before class, often for a grade. Not approachable. Very little actual teaching from this instructor. Forces group projects for everything.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS AT PITT! She does not lecture even when my class is an in class setting. She posts two 20 minutes videos on what she would've went over in class. In class we either are given a worksheet to do the whole time or we are put into groups and she fires random questions at us. She is not approachable, very rude to her students.

Reviews are designed to be transparent and honest. Majority of the course is completely self-taught, so prepared to read the textbook cover-to-cover. PCC doesn't offer an alternate professor to teach this class. Most students are too timid to answer/ask questions in this class because of the professor's imperious and autocratic demeanor.

Mrs. A is hands down one of the best professors Ive ever had. I was a little taken aback at the beginning of class because she comes across harsh, but whatever you need, shell help you with and definitely goes the extra mile. Dont take her if you dont take micro seriously, but if youre willing to do the work youll get so much out of it.

I feel like BIO-112 is a difficult class to teach for any teacher because the material is so memorization-based. If you're not good at blindly memorizing taxonomy, body parts and terms, then it will definitely be difficult. Honestly, she does the best she can do with BIO-112 and I'm thankful, but it is very hard if you aren't able to put in time.

Do NOT take this at PCC. Hardest class ever and heard it was a breeze at ECU. She is nice but also extremely rude. At the beginning of school beware of pop quizzes!! Also, lab is like an extra class on top of everything else. If you're a straight A student you could pull an A out, but most people just end up with a B. So glad the semester is over.

So I'm gonna make it simple. If you take bio 111 with her then sure you're going to have to try and if you do bad in that class it's probably not because she's a bad teacher, it's because you suck at biology. If you take bio 112 then it's all taxonomy and it's not easy to teach. But she is the absolute best of a bad situation. Have a backbone.

Teaches you lots of information needed for medical situations, but you have to learn the information and try to understand it. She gives you opportunities to apply what you learn - gives you lots of help if you try and apply yourself.

I love this teacher. She makes sure you work and know your stuff. She is strict but you get what you give. If you put in the time and effort there is no way you should do bad in her class.

Though she does seem like a nice person, her teaching style is not one easily understood by students. If you have a question, she will ask you the same question to see if you understood, when you obviously didn't understand. I think her favorite thing to do is tell students they are wrong, if they are or not. I'd find another school to take it.

I enjoy her class. Everyone who gave her a bad rating probably did not do well in the class. She is tough, she wants to make sure you know your stuff before you leave her class. I am actually getting ready to take her again for 112, specifically asked for her. You ask a question, she asks it back to see if you understood. GREAT TEACHER!

Mrs. Atchison teaches a major-intended class. If you are expecting an easy A or a breeze-thru class, this isn't the major or class for you. If you are serious about your grades, it shows in her class. Don't expect not to read and take notes. I am so grateful she was my instructor for this course! She is incredibly knowledgeable and eager to teach.

She teaches pretty good;the class is hard so that you can succeed in the next level classes. You have to do the online work, read the syllabus, and watch the stuff she posts online to make a good grade. You defiantly can't skip class or lab or you will be lost. Mrs. A is helpful if you try - you have to come to class, have to read the book, complete the quizzes, and use any resources she has provided. This is major's level class and so harder than a regular biology class. If you try you can succeed.

She is rude, she belittles people who asks questions, I don't even ask them because I'm afraid of what she will say back. JUST DO NOT TAKE HER,will say she knows her info, she only thinks she is hot, thinks way too highly of herself, doesn't know how to explain things on a more relatable level, struggling to pass

The course is hard. The questions are unnecessarily tricky sometimes. It seems as if you attempts to fail people, at least a little. She gets frustrated if you get slightly off topic or ask questions about things that are ahead in the chapter. I am an A student but found this course frustrating rather than challenging.
