Dr. Arthur is an extremely helpful and fun professor. He really understood the material, and gave fair exams and quizzes. He moves extremely fast though. Missing class is bad. Very bad. If you can keep up with him you will gain a great understanding of the subject.

He has a very subtle and hilarious sense of humor. Does not use Blackboard or email. His handwriting is near incomprehensible. The class is easy but I highly recommend seeking supplemental instruction online. His lectures are not sufficient. Weekly quizzes and homework.

Tries to be funny but otherwise his lectures are extremely fast paced and dry. He knows his stuff but doesn't care if you do or not. It's useless trying to understand what he's saying most of the time so just take note of what he says will be on the quizzes and study those. His midterms and finals are straight from the quizzes.

Most boring, dry, tedious, dull, monotonous, lame class I have ever taken and Joel Arthur is 100% to blame. It would be an interesting subject but Arthur is horrendous, stay away at all cost!

Joel is probably the worst teacher I have ever had. He didn't have any idea about Statistics and not much better on Econ. He doesn't know how to teach because he doesn't understand it himself and it really shows. Honestly he should be fired, he is extremely lazy and despises teaching.

Joel is a really good guy. Seems a little burned out with instructing. Don't think he grades the final. Enjoys the subject with a passion. He lectures very quick, so you have to ask questions to slow him down or else he will leave you in the dust. Good guy. Okay teacher.

Had Joel for 340 & 345...GREAT teacher...really probably the most well throughout and easy to understand teacher I have had during 5 years at CSUC. That says alot especially for a class that is historically difficult. Joel keeps it as entertaining as possible, and is also personally a very nice/cool guy. I would DEFINITELY recommend Joel

Great guy and very helful. Gets homework back to you in the next class period, weekly quizes, but go to class and you'll be fine. Great teacher and really has a passion for it. He is also very down to earth and I have not met anyone who does not like him.
