Joel's amazing. He is smart, funny, and knows his audience. He doesnt treat his classes like children, and will swear and freely talk about adult topics. He encourages conversation, and will answer most any question.

He's willing to work with you if you don't understand, and his methods of teaching, I've found, just WORK. He reviews very thoroughly before tests, gives easy extra credit opportunities, and tells hilarious stories that apply to what he's teaching. Definitely my favorite professor!

Powell is an interesting guy and cares about his students. He tries to make the lectures interesting when the material is boring. I would take all of his classes if I could. There's a ton of extra credit in his classes if you fall behind. He tries to create a stress free environment for his students.

Very funny professor, he enjoys talking with students. While going to class isn't super mandatory so long as you read, the class was fun, and we watched a lot of cute baby videos. I didn't feel like a lowly student in his class, it felt like he was just teaching an equal about something he was passionate about.

Comment:

Dr. Powell is a great professor. He does what he can to help students and gives many extra-credit options throughout the semester. Tests aren't bad as long as you pay attention, but he gives quite a few "surprise" quizzes which he tells you about a few days ahead of time. He's also very funny and keeps class entertaining.
