WORST EVER! I have never failed a class before him, I pull b's and received an F.DO NOT TAKE HIM! All finance is goin to suck, but dont take fairbanks. I was WARNED and DIDNT listen, wish I would have and saved my GPA. Attendance mandatory, which is ok, but he doesnt teach it, he teaches like you already have had like 5 finance classes.AVOID IT!

Horrible Teacher! Uses 20 year-old handouts on overhead- rushes through them. You have to scribble down all the info in a HURRY, meanwhile he blabs on about NOTHING! I would not reccommend this guy EVER! Book is Not Relevant, this Guy uses his own formulas.

This guy is unbelieveable. He goes through the material like we have already had Finance. If it wasn't for the SLA, I would have failed for sure. Only take the SLA. Don't bring him an apple for a gift, all he wants is coffee and cigarettes!!!!

This class sucks, but I hate finance so my opinion may be a bit biased. He explains everything but it's so boring that it's difficult to pay attention and he moves through the material really quickly. Overall he's not too bad, though. Pay attention and you can get a B.

Take the SLA. Sarah the sla instructor rocks! I would have likely failed the course had I not had SLA. Fairbanks just sits in his chair the entire class period...makes it pretty boring. Hard to get excited when he's like that. He's a little unclear, but the material makes a lot more sence in SLA.

Yea, what a great teacher... I thoguht you were supposed to be in the classroom during your exams to help students if they needed it? He is very nice and very helpful! GO TO CLASS It helps your grade at the end! He's always there if you don't understand, but class can be boring. He loves what he teaches! He speaks english unlike all the other Finc. Teachers here. Im glad I had him --- take SLA if possible, its helps for the test!

I expected more based on his positive rating on this site. He is hands down one of the most boring and ineffective professors I've had. The actual time he spends teaching relevant material is about 30% of the classtime, and the rest of the time he rambles on and on about whatever. For example, a 20 minute rant about his low ACT Reading scores.

Just took a finance class through Western for my MBA. It just reconfirmed how little I learned in this class. He did not put any excitement into the class whatsoever. He just sits there and sweats. He does give handouts, so that you can teach yourself...Is that what I paid tuition for???? Bad.

Very straightforward professor! Yes, you have to study - it is not something you can learn in one night. If you fail, it is only because you weren't prepared - he tells you exactly what will be on the exam. BE IN CLASS - STUDY - AND YOU HAVE YOUR A.
