It's a huge shame Heilman is leaving Whittier. He's the best professor this school has to offer. The bottom line is he's an effective teacher who can get the point across to students and he structures his exams to mimic the Bar Exam. What else can you ask for right?

Heilman is the best. Hands down. He's the prof you want to take Evidence with. He's funny, explains everything clearly and his exams are fair- even though they are a bit race horse.

Professor Heilman is fantastic. His tests are difficult but he is a very fair grader. Hilarious professor and just an awesome person in general. He truly wants his students to be successful and enjoy their law school experience. Anyone who has the opportunity to take Prof. Heilman should do so!

I took Professor Heilman for Torts and Community Property. He is extremely pleasant and engaging with students. Unlike most professors, he assists students in class who are called on and who are unable to completely disuss a case and he allows students to take a pass on a case.

He is funny and overall a really nice guy. He keeps class interesting but often this ends up in class long discussions on hypotheticals which in no way help you to set out the basic requirements for the area you are talking about. He is very responsive to the needs of the class and knows when we need a little extra boost to get us going.
