This class is half online. In class, you work on in-class assignments that usually are pretty easy. If you ever get stuck he is there to show you what you did wrong and help you out. The online portion is a series of simbooks, projects, quizzes, and tests. 70% of all answers can be found online. Get a windows computer. DONT buy the textbook.

Cool guy that helps you in class. But is hybrid class so most of work is done online outside of class. Just beware because there is no accepted late work. Missed a few assignments and cost me an A.

I did this class half online so we met once a week where there were difficult in class assignments that he rarely gave help on and graded harshly. Outside work is not that difficult, just do it on time because there is no leniency for late work. Easy material and he knows his stuff, just can be rude sometimes.

Professor Ross is fine, and the class is very easy, but he isn't willing to help when you have questions. Just be prepared to be frustrated by the in-class assignments. The homework is a lot but it's all very easy.

Easily the worst teacher I've ever had. Extremely unhelpful and assigns homework even on days you don't have class.

The material is all stuff you can either teach yourself or just read from the textbook. Very strict about deadlines and assigns a lot of work, but it's nothing too hard. If you ask him questions about doing the assignments on a Mac he doesn't know how to help you.

john ross is such a sweet sweet man, there are a few projects you cant do on a mac which is annoying but its only a few and theyre at the end of the semester. overall super easy class as long as you show up and do the projects

I had class once a week and we just did one assignment on what you had to read on your own and then you could leave when you finished. The rest of the work is online and you just do it on your own. Super easy class.

Everything about this class is online. Ross was awful about answering questions and was unforgiving with technical errors in the class. This class takes a LOT of time, you have either a project, quiz, or homework (or multiple) everyday. Definitely find a buddy in your class and work together

Mr. Ross doesn't teach anything whatsoever, just giving us class assignments where no one has any idea what's going on. He spends the whole class answering questions and ends up telling us how to do it anyway. Would not recommend if you want someone who will actually teach you.

This is honestly the worst class ever. If at all possible, don't take this class. Professor Ross is unhelpful doesn't effectively explain the material. You cannot miss any class. AVOID

As most others have stated, avoid if you can. He doesn't know what he's talking about when you ask questions, and if he does he makes you seem dumb for asking when he doesn't explain well enough. Way too much homework, and if you miss class you're likely to miss a graded assignment. I got 90s+ on exams but finished with a B because missing class

There is a lot of homework assignments that are online and you should read for the quizzes because they ask some weird question. He gives one bug group project at the end of the year that can get pretty annoying but it is not hard. Mr. Ross also is not all that friendly, never felt comfortable asking questions in that class because he was rude.

Professor Ross assigns a lot of homework and classwork, but if you use class time well you should be able to get it done. You will probably get out of class early most days. Would recommend.

This is by far the most negative experience I've had with a professor. Extremely condescending and disrespectful. Not very good at explaining concepts or helping with questions. Assigns lots of busy work and makes the class much harder than it needs to be. Study for the quizzes, he likes trick questions. Take this course online if you can!

I thought Ross was a great professor for MGSC 290. He rarely lectures, but the homework teaches you everything you need to know. Although there are a lot of assignments, they're not difficult and they help you for the tests. The quizzes are pretty difficult, but he realized we were struggling and started giving us some of the answers. Easy A

Throughout this class it often felt like Prof. Ross was in the way. While I didn't find him to be condescending, the in class assignments felt unnecessary and the class set up seems like it would be better suited as an online class because a professor doesn't really add much to it.

I really regret taking Ross for MGSC 290. He made the class a lot more difficult than it needs to be. He doesn't understand computers that well, and it's basically an Excel course. He gives a lot more assignments that the other MGSC 290 professors do, which is really frustrating because it's obvious that this class is supposed to be an easy A.

Makes the course harder than it needs to be, but if you put in the effort you'll be fine. The group project is pretty easy but his instructions for it are extremely vague. The class is basically self-taught, so it requires a lot of outside work and there is a lot of homework, in addition to his in-class assignments that can take a while to finish
