Guy really has to chill out. I understand that this is his passion and what he loves but he needs to realize that I'm not a literature major, I'm there to learn some skills he has to offer and move on with my life. Not get tormented and degrated for the fist 30 minutes of class everyday because our essays don't fufill his impossible standards.

NO, do not do it to yourself. Him personally is so rude, he degrades students and for what? I come to class to learn not to listen to what u think about me or other students. His assignments are misleading and the syllabus. I passed his class, but boy the obstacles I had. Don't waste your time. He needs to reevaluate himself...

By far the worst proffoser i have ever had. I learned nothing in this class. All he did was lecture to us about how bad we are and were not taken serious if we go to Nassau. He gives pop quizs every class on the short stories we read but the questions have nothing to do with the story... Please drop this class before its to late!!!

Dr. Marzán is and an amazing professor. He is extremely clear and helpful. Not only does he provide profound insight on the English language, but you will leave his class reflecting on your habits, entertainments, goals, and time spent in academia. The users who gave him a poor review seem to believe they are in an extension of high school.

It took some getting use to his method of teaching since he comes across as crude and condescending . However, if you can get pass that I must admit that his lectures were informative and conducive to life experiences. He clearly explains the work & challenges you beyond your capabilities. If you are looking for an easy grade he is not for you.

Though intimidating at first, I really enjoyed Professor Marzan and his class. Everything said in class really struck a chord with me and I could apply almost every reading and class discussion to my everyday life. Professor Marzan inspired me to better myself and work hard. Without a doubt, one of the best professors I've had at NCC.

Professor Marzan does not enjoy his job and it shows. He degrades students, a control freak and highly disrespectful. He makes students feel dumb and uneducated. His lectures usually go into left field and he talks about politics and what's wrong with Americas youth today. Halfway into the semester I dropped because we weren't learning anything.

His syllabus is misleading and assignments on essays are given with ambiguity. He contradicts himself all the time and his lectures are basically condescending rants about how this generation is basically doomed to exist. Very PRETENTIOUS and SANCTIMONIOUS. I learned nothing from him.

good luck passing. prof. changes criteria of papers numerous times, even durring same class when asked. never teaches only harps on 18 yr old ignorance. any learning is done in book @ home. constantly talks down to students,feels students are inferior. conflict of interest, uses the book he was published in!!! will kill GPA!!!!

Always explains how he wants the essay then when you ask how exactly does he want it he'll tell you a complete different and makes it even more confusing and you can't even take notes. Then he'll say if you have questions email him but when you email him he doesn't reply or asks if you have a problem with reading comprehension.

I took the class to learn how to write about literature. I learned nothing of the sort, or anything else for that matter! All he does is rant on how the students can't do anything right, are unable to read or write, and how they will go nowhere. Doesn't teach you anything. His class is a waste of time and you deserve more respect as a student.

He often becomes very critical of student's character. He often goes off topic to scold and rebuke the class when he is not satisfied. Be prepared to be talked to like a middle school student. Spare your GPA and heed my warning: avoiding registering his classes. Many in my class have tried to appeal to the Dean but to no avail. I hope this helps.

English is one of my best subjects..but he is the biggest a$sh0le pos i have ever met, He walked into the class late one time and said "sorry i was at chemotherapy" and started hysterically laughing as if it was a joke and has no empathy for anyone else, he is miserable, however he does know what he is talking about and is very tough.
