Comment:

I have not taken math for a few years and have never been good at the subject. Prof Turrisi would take the time to explain the concepts in different ways. If you study the review packets, do all the homework, and participate you will understand. However, when you dont understand she is patient & kind to continuously take the time until you succeed

Comment:

I was never good at math and Prof Turrisi is amazing. Best math teacher I ever had and I actually learned math, can apply it, and passed my Peaxis. Thank you so much for your patience, your creative way of explaining concepts, and for working one on one or in groups all the time.

I feel a person is only as good as there word and she goes back on hers. She told the class multiple times they had two extra credit exams in the semester. When I asked her to take the exam she completely ignored me and acted like she never said that. When I sent her a courteous email about it she replied "No." She is unprofessional.

Comment:

Math has never been my forte but Professor Turrisi was extremely helpful throughout the semester. She made sure we were thoroughly prepped for our exams and even gave us some extra credit/partial credit for some questions. She is also such a down to earth, funny, caring, and inspirational teacher. Highly recommend taking her class.

Comment:

Simply the best of the best. I was never good at math and suddenly it all makes sense. She is very easy going and is willing to change test dates, doesnt give mandatory homework, and will go over anything you need clarification on. She basically allows her students to set the tone in her classroom and set the pace. Take her if you have the chance!

I have been a student in Prof. Turrisi's geo .class, which I took both as a degree prerequisite & to prepare myself for the Praxis. I am glad Prof. T has been my teachr, for multiple reasons: She is an exceptional math teacher & always willing to explain the concepts;her door is always opened for help; she stays 1hr after class; I passed Praxis!

This class is very difficult but the professor is accessible outside of class and willing to work with you until you understand the material clearly. The grading criteria is made clear from the syllabus and throughout the semester the professor will remind us. This class helped me pass my PRAXIS. Thank you, Professor Turrisi!!!

Lecture-based and as long as you go, you will pass. Gives sooo many opportunities for extra credit. Take this professor. Honestly, she is very helpful, understanding, and overall cares about her students. The first three tests are in class and the last three are take home. Make sure you prepare for the CUMULATIVE final that's worth 30%.

Comment:

Make sure you do not skip class because the clear and concise lectures and group work are mandatory to succeed. Prof Turrisi is approachable so students are able to discuss mathematics to gain depth and breath of material being taught. I found that she understood the varied learning styles so she would differentiate the learning.

She is an AWESOME AND I MEAN AWESOME teacher. As long as you show effort in her class of trying to understand she will make sure she helps you understand. The math that she teaches is not easy so attendance in her class is pretty mandatory.

Simply the best professor at Centenary College. Takes time out of class to her you with a great flexible schedule. Her lectures are never boring. So if you are not the "math type" this is the professor to take. If you love math, she's the best teacher period. Take her!
