He can be very intimidating, but as long as you complete the study guides for his midterm and final, study them religiously, and can memorize dates for 2 quizzes, you'll be fine. Although he does assign a "group" essay which was annoying but doable.

Kerry Maning is an interesting prof. Make sure you study a little and the class is an easy A. He does have a peculiar personality but he just wants students to be engaged. Get to know him and see how funny this guy can be! I took him for world politics and american politics. Very nice guy, but picks on slackers and students that are apathetic.

This was a tough class, but worth it. Entertaining, clear, helpful, and all around good instructor. That he's not a tenured professor is an academic crime. Show up to class every day and read the book, or you may have a hard time with this course.

Not a great professor, but not the worst either. His tests were hard remembering who wrote certain articles. He talked down to his students because they didn't know who were in all of the government positions. I feel that he was arrogant toward his students. The reason people take the class is to learn about the government not to be judged.

Dr Manning is one of the most knowledgeable UPG polysci teachers on campus. I have taken him with 4 classes and gotten an A or B+ in everyone. He like to have open discussion at the beginning of class and if you bring something to the table it will help your grade big time. Just come to class and fill out his review sheets its an easy A.Easy tests!

This class isn't too bad. He basically gives you the test as a short answer study guy, except the test is multiple choice. Attendance is mandatory but his lectures are somewhat interesting. Definitely would recommend, esp for non-history majors.

Dr. Manning is a very fun professor, and you must be prepared to speak in his class. Learns EVERYONE's name fairly quickly throughout the course, even in larger classes. He is very personable and intelligence is key. Do not expect to be lazy and get away with everything even though we watched movies in this class. We still had a final paper to do.

Great professor. Has really bad hand writing but hands out a worksheet before every test with all the answers basically- what more can you ask for? Takes attendance every class and gives bonus for handing out papers
