Comment:

Prof. Quinney is one of the most caring professors I've ever had and she gives amazing lectures! Both the midterm and final are online and there are only two essays throughout the semester. Her TA's are wonderful as well and offer lots of help and extra credit in their Friday discussion sections.

Comment:

I have had Professor Quinney for more than one class and she is my favorite in the history department. She is passionate about what she teaches and really cares about her students. This class had no textbook but you do have to buy two books for two book reports. Also, a midterm, final, and DHP which weren't difficult. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed this class so much. Professor Quinney is very passionate about what she teaches. I never missed this class because I truly enjoyed hearing what she had to teach. The papers you write in this class are very easy and so are the finals if you study. I highly recommend this class to anyone.

Comment:

Dr. Quinney was an amazing professor. The class was completely online during the winter intersession period, so it was only four weeks. However, the textbook was online--easy to navigate through. It was ust four discussion posts, two essays, two exams, and a project at the end (could change but this is what it was like for my class). Very caring!

Loved this professor! She was always prepared for class and excited about the material she was teaching. There is an online free textbook that is used and you do have lots of reading but its a good class.

Dr. Quinney is amazing and the sweetest professor. During her lectures it feels like a casual conversation but you learn a great amount of history in a short period of time. She explains historical topics in a way that is very relatable to a college student. She really cares about her students! Highly recommend!!

Comment:

One of the sweetest professors at CSUSM. She is always happy to be in class and is more than willing to help outside of class. Her lectures can be kind of random though. She never goes into depth either, so prepare for her to say something like "this key term is on the final" but then only spend 30 seconds briefly explaining it. Super easy class.

Comment:

Prof. Quinney is easily one of the nicest professors I've ever had. She's caring & passionate about her lectures. The tests are openbook, but that's NO excuse to not study. There's about 3 essays that require background knowledge & references. Only thing I wasn't too keen of was having discussion w/ the instructional aides-- it didn't help at all.

Comment:

Quinney is a very passionate professor. Very down to earth and caring. She enjoys what she teaches and her lectures are easy to follow. There's only two exams and a few papers. The exams are based on the readings, which were open-book. My only complaint is that she doesn't put in the grades until they're due. You have to keep track of your grades.

Lectures are great and easy to listen to, even if you find history boring. However, tests are based more on the textbook than what she presents in lecture, which are open book. 2 papers, 1 project, and 2 tests along with points from discussion class.

Dr. Quinney was so sweet and down to earth. You could really see how passionate she was about history and is showed in her lectures. Super straight forward, midterm, final, and 3 essays. She also gave a lot of easy extra credit (ie. showing up to class) and really wants her students to succeed

Take her GBST 300 online summer course, you will not be disappointed! Weekly one page essays and discussion board posts. Two essays and a more detailed final discussion post on how globalization relates to you. Very interesting class and focuses on real life application - take it!

Professor Quinney is awesome. She is extremely sweet and very willing to help if you are willing to ask. The midterm and final were papers based off of books so be sure to do the reading she assigns. Her lectures can be rather jumbled and she can get off topic easily but she always brings it back.

Dr. Quinney is a great lecturer. She wants her students to think about their connection to history and actively participate as a citizen. However, she was late to class, disorganized, and did not finish grading assignments until the day before grades were due. Grades include 5 film reviews, 2 papers, an online midterm, and an online final.

Dr. Quinney is by far my favorite professor at this school. She is so funny and very enthusiastic about the subject. I hated how short the lectures were (50 mins) because I just wanted to learn more. There are 4 film reviews (good choices too), 1 midterm (online), 1 final (online), and tons of extra credit opportunities. I highly reccomend her!

Professor Quinney is an amazing!! her lectures are interesting and you actually learn. She is very passionate which makes the class enjoyable. She has 2 papers one midterm and a final and A LOT of extra credit opportunities! She really cares about her students, very loving, great sense of humor, and very understanding! She's the BEST!
