I learned nothing this year and all his lectures are all over the place. I did study for the tests, but never got higher than an 80. There were some questions that we never talked about on the test. I wouldn't like going to class becauses he would insult some of the students. I would never take him again.

You truely learn nothing. Some tests are online but he always throws in questions that he either didnt talk about, or are much more difficult than what he did in class. Take a real teacher for chemistry and youll be much better off

His tests were online. Took attendance. Quizzes. He had a sense of humor. Can pick on you but thats his personality. Still a cool guy. Study, youll pass. Work for it bums. Homework he never checks but you should do.

He's grandfathered into teaching here, so no one seems to care that his materials and he himself are ancient. He doesn't show up to office hours, is unprofessional with an "aol" email on the syllabus, and he makes no effort to relate what he "teaches" in class to the textbookhis test-generator-made exams . He is insulting, and should just retire.

WORST CHEM PROFESSOR AT THE U!!! Made my life miserable. He's a high school teacher that can't teach. He should have been fired already. The man calls his students "worthless". He's also raciist. He cant do simple math or teach chem. If you take him, you're better off skipping class and reading the book because he teaches the wrong things anyways.

What he goes over in class does not show up on the tests. He uses a test generator for tests, but only teaches a few points in class. Makes a lot of mistakes while teaching, so if you don't already know the material it is easy to get confused. Minimal knowledge was obtained from him.

Dont sit in the front he will make fun of you and make you answer his dumb questions. Bad teacher because its hard to read his writing and makes alot of errors. His tests are all easy multiple choice, but throws a few questions about nothing he talked about.

I took Mr.Mecca for both semesters of Gen Chem. I would not recommend him - even though he curves his tests, you are not learning Chemistry. His tests are all from random sites online, and his notes on board and his lecture are TERRIBLE. They are wrong a majority of the time, and the notes he gives you are very hard to understand. I am scared for Orgo/MCATS because of the lack of material I learned. If you're stuck with him, make the bed of it and go over his notes after every class and keep up!

His tests are hard but he curves which still doesn't help much. He's not a professor he is a high school teacher but still thinks he knows everything even though he always gets problems wrong on hthe board and marks problems wrong on tests that are not wrong. He is terrible and insults everyone NEVER take him

CHEM 112 113: He's a good guy, knows his stuff and wants you to learn. No hw grades so how much work you put in is up to you...but be warned if you do the work you'll be fine, don't and you'll be on his hit list. Don't be an idiot and he's a nice guy.

I am not gunna lie, he is pretty hard, but he curves the test and the class as a whole. Plus if you have trouble on a quiz or test and ask him a question, he basically writes down the work for you. HE IS SUCH A SWEET MAN! Even though I got a C+ last semester, I would take the close over in a heartbeat. He seems intimidating but he is a sweetheart!

he suckssssss. you cant hear a thing. he would literally have to speak into you ear for you to understand anything. he writes in some sort of foreign language on the board that no one can understand. if you have bad vision or hearing, sit up front, but beware bc he will pick on you for questions

You must sit up front to understand anything...he likes to call on people in the front so know what is going on if your willing to take the risk and sit up front...his tests are difficult (try and get a hand on previous tests) towards the end of the semester he tends to grade easier on everything...quizzes every thursdays

Sit up front and pay attention in class, paying close attention to example problems. Do the homework when possible, but usually he will give you the answers later, so at least go over them then. His handouts are helpful usually. Once you get used to his style of teaching you can succeed if you put in the time. Good luck!

Definitely tries to scare people and weed you out of the class. Sit up front, ask questions, and make sure he knows your name. And go see him on his office hours, he will help you and realize that you are trying. There is an easy quiz once a week and tests aren't so bad as long as you study hard for them.

you must sit closely to hear every word he says but not to understand the material b/c it won't make a difference. he WILL pick on people who sit upfront so beware. the tests questions don't seem to be made by him and are usually not covered in class, so most studying that you do may be out of class. a nice man, not a good class.

You will need to sit toward the front to understand him because he doesn't project his voice. He doesn't give any extra credit and there were always questions on the tests that we didn't go over in class. The tests weren't that tough, but you had to get only 3 or 4 wrong to get an A. He went through the material quickly, so read the book!

very hard, cant hear or understand him. doesnt teach any of the material, you must learn it on your own. can also be pretty mean. advice: sit in the back of the class to avoid getting picked on.
