Comment:

Very nice, approachable, and clearly cares about students. Exams are multiple choice, but tough. You're on call only twice a semester but you will be answering a lot of questions those days so be prepared.

Comment:

Great if you are a visual learner. She doesn't test on the reading, only what she says in class, so you only have to read on the two days you are on call (though reading on other days certainly helps). She breaks down all the readings into flow charts and tables and gives them to you, which is amazingly helpful. Entertaining class.

Comment:

Take Property with Bartell! The exams are tough but fair and she is an awesome lecturer. She does theater as a hobby and brings in theatrics to her lectures to try and make the topics a bit more interesting. Participation is based off of 2 sign-up days only so BE PREPARED, she will grill you but not in a humiliating way. Highly recommend.

Prof. Bartell takes an amazingly complicated subject in property and breaks it down for her students. You have to sign up for 2 days of participation and she will grill you but you'll learn a lot. Amazing teacher would definitely take again just beware cause her exams are tough.

Her lectures are clear enough, but be warned that her multiple choice exam does NOT test knowledge of the subject. Rather, it seems to want to prove how well she knows the subject by making the answers to questions practically undiscoverable. Also, be advised that she has a policy of never bumping grades. Wait for another professor to teach this.

If you have difficulty with multiple choice exams BE PREPARED, her exams are tough. TOO many handouts... basically equivalent to another textbook. She is thorough. Watch out for her upper level courses she sticks with the 1st year mandatory curve system and gives C's even though she doesn't have to. Wouldn't take her if I didn'thave to!!

She gives more work than any professor I've ever had! Tons of reading! In class, she makes the subject matter clear but in the end her exams are just too tough! She's also very arrogant. Be prepared to be bombarded with cases and handouts!

An arrogant wench who hides her own insecurities behind her law professor persona. The class was interesting, however, and if she ever decides to become a real human being, she could be much more effective.
