Wow challenging class! Nicest teacher but this class is very independent. If you come in to this class with very little programming knowledge make sure to partner up but do your best to work on your programs alone. The class builds on ideas that are all incorporated in the final so learn your stuff or your cooked!

I am definitely not a computer person therefore this class was difficult for me. I went to Marino's office hours towards the end, since the final is 60% and he was extremely helpful. I really liked this teacher and don't think I would have passed with anyone else. Felt lost all year and tried really hard at end and pulled out with an A.

First time learning to program. I must say, the way he teaches it, it's hard not to learn. Great teacher emphasizing more about memory allocation rather than just teaching how to program. Challenging labs, and quizzes every friday. Recommend.

Stupid easy class. I didn't even attend lecture after the first few weeks all the way up till the final. You can teach yourself C from the notes that he puts up. You can definitely get by without the book too. The internet has the answers for free. Still, this class is basic fundamentals. Make sure you get it on your own. Prof. provides little.

Very lazy professor, you basically need to learn C on your own. Dont buy the book, its junk, instead use http://computer.howstuffworks.com/c.htm or watch videos. TA is useless. Overall an interesting subject (if you like programming) but a disappointing professor. 60% Labs/quizzes, 40% Final (curved). Final grade is curved too.

Had 361, 375 and 561 with him. GREAT professor. Assigns fun (and challenging) labs. The material he goes over in class is directly related to the labs so go to class (or you'll struggle)! Labs start out easy and progress into complicated programs. I got an A in all of the classes, but programming is my thing. C programming in 375, C# in 361 and 561.

Grading: 7 Labs (60%), 2 Exams (20%), Final Project (20%). Be consistent because each assignment/test/project is 10% of the grade. We didn't have a book so learn how to use your online resources and make some friends. Unlike COMPE375, it is a must to go to class because he teaches C# very well and provides about the material for each lab.

class is about basic programming in the c language. starts out extremely slow, but near the end the pace starts to increase. grade is all on labs and tests(3). you must study and do all the exercises he assigns (not graded) in order to do well. ask questions and make sure you understand everything, the later topics build off of one another

He's a pretty simple guy and the exams include problems that are very similar to those he does in class and from Labs (not taught by him). He has a review for each exam one class day before the test. I dont think i ever opened the book for the class.

The tests are the easiest part of this class. Everything is understandable the first few weeks of class, but after that, working with other students is your best bet in completing assignments. He's very unclear in what he wants and barely gives half of the info you need for each assignment. Must buy $125 board. Be prepared to stay late at school.

Everything exactly explained as rating below. Fellow students are your sources and as the semester goes on, less detail will be explained. cool class, cool projects, just be prepared to figure things out on your own.

No textbook but you must buy a 125 circuit board. he shows you less and less on what needs to be done as the semester goes on. Your classmates are your best tools for help. He is learning the board with you so no help from him. start early on the projects especially late semester.

This class is hard, no ifs or buts; PERIOD!!!Prof only gives you 6 DEMOS in a 16 week course. You have your very own working station, so you must DEMO your FINAL project to MARINO personally, no written exams at all.You must know your C like your last name.Manuals don't fully help. The final DEMO has a weight of 40% and takes 4 weeks,EE must take this class too; God bless you.

This guy is a good teacher. His lectures are boring, but he breaks things down. He may make mistakes sometimes, but admits it. Several project, all challenging. No time for a final, so final demonstration, where he asks questions on your work. Overall, a good class and good instructor. Need to know material from CompE 361 really well.

This class should not be tough by this guy. He does not help, and you may need to go to a community college to get help for this class. Computer science majors should not be compared with Computer engineers. He does not know what he is doing sometimes. Talk to him if you can, but I did and it did not help me.

Ok professor, but tends to be more consider to some students then others. Be careful when taking him, and definitely give feed back to SDSU about you experience with him. I ended up with a B- in his class.

Really boring teacher. Reminded me of Ben Stein. His midterms were extremely difficult, unless you love programming. I quickly found out that I despised programming after taking this class.
