Comment:

I had Professor Baker over the Summer for mth104. The course was more difficult than the math work that needed to be learned, because the summer class was packed into 5 weeks, every weekday for 3 hours in your seat + outside. She was on our side to pass and kept our attention under the prolonged strenuous circumstances. Keep up and pass with ease.

-MTH098 FLEX: -Clear instruction -Clear syllabus -Gave deadlines and consequences if deadlines weren't met. -Put effort into class, she gives you respect. -Lots of outside-of-class studying. -follows department rules -emails promptly with everything. -Would recommend a FLEX class to a person who is taking class as a "review"

Professor was very clear about what her expectations were and was very helpful. If you do what is expected and work hard in her class, then you will do well. She does try to use analogies to make sense of what we learned, which helps out a lot. Make sure to have your cell phone off or on silent during class.

Professor Baker Was very helpful and understanding in the class. If you do the work you will well in her class. She wants the best for her students. I wish she was teaching 165 this semester, unfortunately she is not.

I took 104 for a summer class with her. She didn't know to give partial credit on tests even though it was in the syllabus. She also seems very bitter and likes to see students struggle. She was very unhelpful. I passed this class but it was a struggle. I had to teach myself a whole class in 5 weeks. Half the class dropped out. I would avoid this.

Professor Baker is one of those teachers I will forever remember as great. She's very patient and understanding. She's a true teacher. There are some great professor at Monroe community college and she's one of those great ones. Her class is vey easy because she knows how to teach very well. She's makes it easy to understand as well.

She is willing to stay after or come in to help her students. When it comes to test she is a tough grader will take points for not having equal signs. During summer class she gave us a few take home test which was helpful. I would take her class again

Worst teacher EVER. I'm normally a decent student with A's and B's Failed her class. She won't tell you your grade or what she thinks about your grade. She doesn't help with any of the homework problems and is confusing when explaining things.

I decided to take her class after seeing so many good reviews on it but THAT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. She assigns 60 probs 4 nights a week and then reviews some of the probs the next day. She expects you to know everything all ready so she feels no need to teach.

I took the hybrid style course for this particular class and I loved it. Most of the work was done online and Professor Baker answered all questions if any came up the next class. Schedule was clear and understandable. E-mails and handouts were extremely helpful as well as pre-final review. Is willing to stay after class and help if needed! A+ Prof

12 e-mails and homework before the class even began. took this course in the summer. it took her until the LAST 3 days of class to receive all but 1 of our exams. so many people that should have dropped didn't because there was no way to know your grade. more concerned with the PGA than her students. laughed at us when we were confused. horrible.

One of the best math professors at MCC, cares about what she does and cares about her students. Had her for 165 last summer and the way she explained the material was very helpful and in depth. As long as you put the time and effort into the course, you will do well.

Professor kept encouraging us to stick to the class; even when we were so discouraged and overwhelmed by the work due to the class being a short session course. We can use a teacher like in this world, especially when some of us struggle to face fear of failure everyday.

Professor Baker is one of those professors that make my memory of MCC brighter. She was awesome & very lenient. She is willing to work w/you if you work with her. She went out of her to help the class understand the information, breaking it down and helping outside of class. She even took time out of her schedule to review the final exam with us.

Comment:

Baker is a great professor for students who struggle with 165 and want to find a way to better learn the material. I failed about 3 times, wondering if I would ever get it, but with reading, doing the homework and taking detailed notes with Baker, I was able to pass. Plus she goes above and beyond to make sure people pass. She is really giving.

I loved professor Baker. She is by far the top professor I had through out my time at MCC. She goes out of her way to make sure each student can receive extra help and goes by their schedule, which is great. She knows her stuff and cares for all her students who put the time and effort in her class. All in all I would rate her a 10 out of 10!

Professor Baker was my instructor this summer for MTH 165. She was available to help students 24/7. She worked with every student individually as long as the student did the homework. Her teaching style was very clear and easy to follow.

Pretty pissed to see all these negative comments about professor Baker...college is a challenge. This isn't grade school. She came off as tough as first but she was the most helpful, caring teacher....willing to accommodate 24 hrs a day..I look forward to having her for all my math classes. She's absolutely AMAZING!!

She pushes you to do well...yes this was a difficult class and many dropped but not because of her, but the challenge of class was to much for them. It's easy to blame teachers for their failures.
