She is the reason I switched majors out of computer science. I had a passion for CS until I got to her class and she refused to help and laughed in your face if you made a mistake. I ended up dropping the class because it was too mentally draining to be assigned hard projects with zero help. Do. Not. Take.

Simply put, should NOT be teaching CSC136. Computer science courses are to be taught by doctors in this field, and she is not. Also has way to long of programs to work on with little time to work on. Does not help at all when you ask but gives short responses in both email and in person. Her ambitions never existed. Worse "professor" by far.

Clear and concise. You WILL NOT get a more thorough breakdown of programming concepts at KU. Grading style is a tad harsh, but shes more than willing to help as long as you don't ask her for last minute assistance or start your assignments (which will be quite large) at the last minute. Overall, a class act.

Seriously one of the worse professors at KU. She is absolutely no help with projects. When you ask her questions, she gives you two word answers and doesn't feel like helping you. Only letures during class. No labs to help with coding. Do not take if possible.

I knew ALL of the material going into this class which made it very easy for me. However, she has the worst teaching style I have ever seen. She cannot correctly answer any student's question and always answers with an attitude like you should have already known that. Coming from a guy who already knew the material, she is a horrible programmer.

She is a great professor. As long as you make an effort on your own part in her class, she will be willing to help if you ever need it. She has a clear teaching style that makes her topics easy to understand. I had a great time in her class.

Quite cynical, the kind of person to laugh if you make a mistake or need help. She barely goes into the material at all, and if you ask a question about anything code not mentioned in class, she's clueless.

She is a very good teacher. It's an easy class, you don't use the book and she goes over everything you need to do in class. She's a little loopy and ditzy sometimes but she generally knows what she's doing. She teaches the course as if you never worked in VB on purpose, so it's incredibly easy if you know how to use VB. I'd suggest taking her.

She focuses alot on HW and programs. Her programs are very easy as long as you take the time to do them to her specs. Overall the class is good but not easy.

she wrote her own textbook. when i took vis basic with her i asked a lot of questions she could't really answer. she doesn't go into depth on a lot of things that could use the background information. projects are easy, class is generally a breeze if you already know OOP and are familiar with the concepts. even if you're new to oop, its easy.

Good prof, but sometimes unclear. Great sense of humor. Grading is questionable at times, but if you're interested in the class, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. She will help you initially, but after pointing in the right direction, you're pretty much on your own. All in all, good prof.

Linda Day is an excellent instructor, and is quite personable. In my opinion, her teaching style is best suited to lower-level CIS classes, in that it is very informative without being too difficult for non-CIS majors or CIS freshmen. She doesn't go into as much depth as some other profs, which is ideal for non-geeks who take CIS as an elective.

Very nice, easy help, gives packets which you should study from (on test usually). Tests weren't that bad. Overall if your a csi major should be easy A or B if you do your work.

Okay teacher. The class isn't too hard, she hands out packets that the test questions are exactly from, study the packets ans you will do well. VB projects aren't that hard either. Not a bad class, borning sometimes.

Mrs. Day can appear a bit aloof in the beginning but once you get to know her she's really very nice and helpful. However, she writes her own curriculum and does not tell you what to read in order to keep in sync with her lectures, which I found to be a problem. She's an ok prof though.
