This is a reading heavy class and requires a lot of writing. IT IS A WEM CLASS. The professor is very sweet and outside of class gives tons of feedback and help. She is very nice and respectful. I love her class because there is interesting material however newer material could be nice.

Dr. V doesn't give constructive criticism on assignments, which makes it difficult to improve your grade. The class also only utilizes one or two sources from this century, which is odd for a class titled Mass Media and Culture. The class is also very repetitive in content and theme.

I owe my mental health to this woman. She gave me the inspiration to develop genuine care about cultural and social issues and prompted me to make changes in my personal life. It was a lot a work, but very do-able when managed right. I loved learning something new every single class and I cannot be more thankful for that feeling! Dr. V, you rock!

I love this woman. Every time I go to her class I feel like I'm getting on the magic school bus, b/c she reminds me of Ms. Frizzle. She makes the class so interesting. All you have to do is read the text book (which is really not that bad) to do well on the quizzes. The tests are straight from the readings and her lecture. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

She is so tough. Lots of reading and awful exams and quizes. She made an interesting class a boring one. Overall the way she taught was helpul, but the way she graded was too bad! Yet she is nice and I think individual meetings will help people who really want to get an A. Goodluck

Dr. Vanderlinden is an extremely interesting and intelligent person. I had her for Sex, Gender, and Culture and the class was absolutely amazing. I learned about very important issues occurring in the world today. She keeps class interesting and there is alot of discussion. You will have to work fairly hard for an "A" but take the class anyways!

LOTS of reading and class discussion is required!!! The tests are tricky, but the quizzes are easy if you read. The interview project is fun!

Dr. Vanderlinden is my favorite professor at TCU- and I'm not even an Anthro major. Shes got to be one of the most intelligent, articulate, and kind people Ive ever met. Intro and Mass Media are both very fun and stimulating- be ready to discuss! Plenty of reading, but its interesting so you'll NEVER be bored in her class!

Lisa is the strict yet nice teacher who keeps class interesting. Her quizes and tests are hard, but she gives reviews for the two tests. If you are an A or B student, it is possible to make the grade. Don't miss class because you'll miss a lot of important material. She's a very sweet lady.
