Ryan is intense about literature, and he expects you to be also. If you can find interest and scandal in the driest of texts, articulately defend absurd points for the sake of discourse, and try to bring the class along on your journey, he will appreciate it, and take a genuine interest in your academic development.

If you read a good review about this guy, trust me, his mother wrote it. Unnecessarily overblown lecturing - more reading and responding than you've ever done, or should have to do. Makes the course difficult-you'll sit in class wondering if you turned stupid and didn't know it.Your not...he's not a teacher in the true sense of the word.

The worst teacher! He should not be allowed to teach. He grades unfairly. He does not know what contructive criticism is. He locks students out and mocks them if they use the restroom. His syllabus and rules are rude. He lowers your final grade if your phone rings. He fails 1 student per class for plaguerism. He does not grade by course level.

Very interesting guy, good lectures though they're always about dirty topics. Really hard to understand his main points and objections. Lots and lots of papers and reading. Grades hard but tries to help by letting you turn papers in early for suggestions. avoid if you are not a dedicated eng major.
