Comment:

Online 266 summer class. 5, five page compare and contrast papers. Maybe 6, 5 question quizzes. And a drawing, plus optional paper or artwork. Sounds like a lot for 5 weeks but shes always available through email for questions and shes not one of those professors who nit pick. Surprisingly easy for how fast it was.

Comment:

McDonald is an amazing teacher. She is really passionate about art history and it shows. She's a little scatterbrained, but she adjusts the test to reflect what she doesn't cover in class. Heavy extra credit opportunities on tests. Also, she's adorable.

Amazing Professor, I enjoyed her classes. I took every class Professor McDonald offered at UNLV. She also brought in guest speakers to give the students a better understanding on the subjects she taught. I miss hearing her lectures. She demanded a lot, but that's what I went to college for, to learn as much as I could.

If you are interested in an easy A, this is your professor. If you are interested in really learning about art, keep looking. Her class is more focused on teaching what are on the exams and not about teaching what defines a style, period, or school. Exam questions are random, so be sure to pay attention to the lectures

She is very informative with the information needed to pass her classes however her teaching structure lacks in every way. My class had presentations for our final with a discription (instead of a paper). The class was split half present on Monday other half on Wednesday and if you miss the day that you didn't present on you get a "zero."

Her tests are extremely unpredictable, you will need to know everything in and out. Although its multiple choice, guessing is nearly impossible if you haven't studied. Hardest art history class I've taken by far. Also she expects Graduate level content on essays. Prepare to do alot of work. passionate about her work, and she expects no less

The contents that the professor teaches is clear and interesting but the way she handles her class is like poor and like high school. She tells you not to eat in class, no getting ready to leave early, on exams dismisses you row by row. she needs to rememer, this is college.

Dr. Mcdonald to say the least was very impressive and has extensive knowledge in her field. I highly recommend her. She is tough, but you will learn a great deal in her class. I also enjoyed the visitors she brought to our class.

I admire her professional skills and enjoyed her Art 495 and 266 classes. However, I did not like the format of the ART 481 class. There was too much emphasis on Buddhist statues. I would have like to have seen more emphasis on Japanese textiles and ukiyo-e art. i did not like the textbook. I was disappointed in the class structure.

I don't think this class was that hard, once you figure out what she is looking for. my sugguestion is to ask her for help, she will help you understand. there is a paper this for the most part was easy because it was vage it left a lot of room for you to express yourself. over all not a bad class, you will learn a lot.

Great class - Prof. McDonald knows her stuff and is obviously passionate about passing her knowledge on to her students. She is always available for consultations and will help you in any way she can. Lots of memorization - and DON'T skip class! Lecture notes are paramount!

She's an excellent teacher, but she has the tendency to be very slow to the point she'll spell out words for you. Nonetheless, I enjoyed her class, she's very helpful, you'll definitely know she knows what's she's talking about... Come on, she's a Stanford alumni. Based on experience, she'll help you the best she could, I even got an A in the end.

I've taken Dr. McDonald for several courses. She is the most organized woman ever! She loves her subject and handles it very delicately and accurately when conveying to students. Her classes are not for those who intend to skip. Her lecture notes are crucial to passing the course.
