Comment:

She's extremely knowledgable and makes fast connections from your assignments to other artists. Sometimes they seem unrelated to what the student was actually trying to express in their work. This isn't bad, but it made for some confusing crits. For me, the class was very difficult. I would take her class again. I do feel like I learned a lot.

Great teacher. Intimidating at first, she's a good public talker. She's very knowledgeable, always prepare us adequately to go through a given project. Her syllabus was clear. I never felt like she was an easy grader, and I appreciated that because I always felt challenged. She was the best teacher I had so far! Good to make her smile as well

Intelligent prof, very monotonous style of teaching she doesn't add too much excitement to what she instructs. You have to push her to get help but she is reasonable if you know how to argue well. SHe definitely likes what she teaches I just wish there was also a bit more respect towards her students once in a while

Luanne is very knowledgable when it comes to contemporary art. She often talked too fast in her lectures which made it difficult to take notes. MAKE SURE TO WRITE DOWN INFO SHE WRITES ON THE BOARD. This will most likely be on the in-class quizzes. Overall a very interesting prof, though she could use some clarity on how to do assignments/projects.

She comes off very strong and often I felt that she brought the effects of her personal life into the classroom, which sometimes was an issue when help was needed. Overall, a very good teacher, powerful woman, and it feels good when you can make HER smile. :)

Luanne is awesome. intimidating at first, you soon find out shes nicer than she seems. her knowledge is incredible. unfortunately 151 this year consisted of the students lecturing instead of luanne, which was a huge disappointment; im sure i would have learned more from her. id like to take another class with her in the future.

Very intimidating class, so much to learn. Essays and exams are easy if you go to class and participate. Found out that she doesn't expect you to learn everything, just the important parts and more about a different way of thinking about art.

Her lectures elucidate and clarify some absurd areas of cont. art. She gives insightful feedback on assignments, and isn't afraid to point out areas for improvement. The assignments, though, are repetitive and have narrow expectations, and 150 text's content is flimsy at best.

After taking Art 151, I was really intimidated by Luanne's bluntness, and by her vast intellect. But now that I know her, I must say that she kicks ass. She's an awesome proff - her critiques are honest and helpfull, and she totally opened my eyes to new aspects in art.
