Such a great professor! Genuinely cares about the success of his students. There's a lot of reading (simultaneously from books and online articles). Goes over everything important during lecture so pay attention. Not difficult at all if you read (or if you don't, you pay attention in class and take notes about the worksheets).

Professor Calero is a really nice guy, BUT assigns a lot of reading. Reading + worksheets take forever. Quizzes are easy if you've done the homework. Midterm is significantly harder than the quizzes, but it's nothing that isn't in the readings or that he didn't go over in class. Papers are on movies, which take time to watch, he grades them easily.

Peace & Violence is a great course, lots of reading but worth it in terms of what you learn and how it shapes you. Lots of reading and a few quizzes here or there, midterm difficult but make sure to work hard and he will like you.

Map quizes with about 100 things to identify which can be frustrating. The midterm was ridiculous and almost no one finished. Final wasn't that bad. You have to attend and write about 2 lectures which he grades kinda harshly.

very straight forward. only bad thing is you have to do a community service project for the quarter and its 1 a week. reflection paper on the visit every week. tests are pretty easy. reading is light and easy.
