I took this class for Biology 1, hoping she would start from the beginning and she expected me to know the material. she doesn't explain the material does briefly states the basic. its so hard if you're not already a biologist. she's a nice lady but just cannot teach.

Professor Hoey is a good teacher. She knows her material and explains it well. IF YOU SHOW UP FOR CLASS YOU WILL DO WELL! Show up and take notes. Tests are tricky but study, take notes, and do the handouts she gives.

Probably one of the best professors I have had at Fitchburg State so far. A lot of the professors in the biology department are great and I can see why she is the head of the department. Genetics is tough but you'll get it if you go to class and take good notes. She's also extremely helpful at her office hours if you fall behind.

I thought she was GREAT! She is funny and very personable. Her tests are difficult but genetics is a tough subject. Missing class is not a good idea. She is very helpful in office hours if you have trouble.

Best Professor i had this semester. She is a funny lady, sometimes a little bit too honest but extremely helpful. I took human genetics just for the lab and I loved it! I learned more than any other class she puts effort in blackboard study guides and she pretty easy to follow.Test are hard but with all the guides and help you'll be all set.

Prof. Hoey is a great lady but can be flighty and all over the place. Her lecture slides are basically useless..do not count on knowing what your notes mean if u only copy the slides in class. The tests are also hard!!! Solving genetics problems, unlike most test you've ever taken. But she'll work with you and help when she can! dont give up on her

Dr. Hoey was a very good teacher, one of the best i've had. She puts a lot of effort into her lectures, and cares about the students. I would reccomend everyone to take Genetics w/ her. I hope to take more classes w/ her.

I was so dreading summer botany..Thank you Dr. Hoey for making it exciting. I have so enjoyed this class and although science still eludes me, I have learned and enjoyed this profs approach and teaching. A+

She's sooooo nice! She's quite clear about everything and the class isn't "boring"(i mean to the people who said it's boring,... come on... it's CLASS) I passed in a lab like 3 weeks late. That's not to say she's a pushover (i got -10pts.).Definately not a bad prof to take. And ya, she can be funny!
