Comment:

Prof Moevs was awesome. I'm def a novice art student, but I took this class for my minor and I'm glad I did. I felt like I learned a lot and became a better, more knowledgable artist. We had homework drawings due like every 2 weeks and 1 continuous sketchbook to keep up with that's due at the end. No tests, no reading, nothing crazy. Great class.

Comment:

Great class if you're practicing for being a monk. No talking or music allowed, and being that it's 3 hours long that gets absolutely maddening. The critique is solid, albeit delivered with a dryness that makes you wonder how she really feels. Not a bad teacher, not a bad class, but an unbearable length that brings out the worst in both.

Marina Moevs is very good at explaining drawing techniques, even if you are a beginner. This is not an easy A and she makes you work hard for a good grade. A lot of the major assignments are done in class so skipping class is not an option.

Wonderful teacher. If you're not majoring or if you don't have a high interest then DON'T take this class. She is EXTREMELY helpful and clear in what she wants and demands from her students. You will definitely see an improvement with your drawing skills. Worth the effort.

She's an amazing professor. She grades very hard but if you listen to what she says she'll reward you. Do your best and FOLLOW WHAT SHE SAYS. She does not just hand out As. I was only able to get one A-. It is a hard class and we do move very fast. If you are an artist then take this class. You'll learn an incredible amount from it.

Nice lady but so hard. It's drawing I and feels like Drawing IV. She does help a lot but she is a tough grader. I received ONE A- on my works even though I worked my ass off on all of them. extremely hard to get an A or a check plus in this class. If you are not majoring in this take a different teacher. Very long classes.

She's very helpful and understanding and doesn't mind occasional late work. The class is challenging, but if you ask her for help she's happy to give suggestions and criticisms. Only thing I didn't like was that the projects kinda jump around from one media to another and you don't really get settled into any of the techniques.

She's not a figure drawing teacher really. She's a painter. I wouldn't recommend her. She loves making you draw fat lady models even if they're as skinny as a rail. Avoid her if you can.

She is a very nice person, but the class is a tough one, when your used to getting A's for any effort in art, actually being graded on the course is just upsetting! haha, was a good class and learned alot, harder then i liked but nothing you cant handle.
