Martin Ball is very stuck in his ways as an old professor. During critiques he is close minded about what he likes and dislikes, and if he dislikes your work, he will let you know in the most forward way possible. He knows his art history, but should not be teaching contemporary painters, since he puts down anything that isn't his taste.

Whoever said that "doing work will be praised" obviously didn't actually take this guy's drawing class.... His assignments are pointless and completely irrelevant to the current art world. If he doesn't like you than he doesn't like you and you'll need devine intervention to change it. I had to redo every drawing assigned to "meet" his standards...

Martin knows who is good at what they do and who is not. If you try, he will see that and praise you. If you come to class with a painting that you spent only 1 hour on, he knows it. You can't throw bull sh*t at him, it just pisses him off. He'd rather see you work hard and be honest with him and yourself.

Really awesome teacher! He taught me more about art than any other teacher this semester! He's tough but funny and really knows he stuff. If your an art major and want to learn the best way possible, he's you guy! Got a B+!

I love this guy..if you like people who challenge you and don't act like sissies praising every little thing you do, you'll like him. Totally dry sense of humor, Hilarious. He can be harsh, but I'd rather someone with experience tell me what they actually think then to dance around the subject and let me continue doing something stupid. He's intelligent, he knows it, he'll let you know it too. Don't procrastinate and show up on time and you'll be fine. He could be concidered "hot" in a Sean Conn
