Comment:
Dr. Tracey's thesis course does not have a textbook; instead, he hands out readings in class. Readings are engaging. You will be quizzed on the readings; quizzes are easy if you read the material. Your grade can be boosted by 2% with extra credit. I wish we were given more freedom of topic and focus, but this is a very minor complaint.

Comment:
Dr. Tracey is an excellent professor. A significant portion of your grade is based on the quizzes. The quizzes are typically 4 questions based on the assigned reading. This is an easy grade booster as long as you actually read the assigned reading. I never understood why students complained about quizzes. It's an easy A if you read the textbook.

Comment:
Professor Tracey's political & social philosophy course is excellent. Do the readings and you'll get a perfect score on his quizzes most of the time--questions tend to be easy and direct. Use arguments in your papers and you'll do well. He provides study guide with all test questions beforehand. You can get an A if you put in the effort.

Comment:
I took Dr. Tracy for political and social philosophy and I really enjoyed the class. He does assign a lot of reading and you do need to keep up to get an A because 1 there are pop quizzes and 2 he calls randomly on everyone everyday to ask questions for discussion about the reading. He is extremely smart and honestly one of the nicest professors

This class was difficult and very tedious. Class is mandatory and his papers are graded very harshly. To earn an A you must show dedication and go to his office hours. I would not say this is a classy that you would receive an A easily.

This class was taught extremely difficult. With three papers, two exams that you had to memorize every little detail, over ten mini pop quizzes, an oral presentation, and he called on you to answer questions and if you did not respond or know the answer you lose class participation. Waste of time. Do NOT take him if you can avoid it.

Professor Tracey is a super respectful and nice teacher, but as a whole, he's not very helpful. He's super knowledgeable about Philosophy, but his lectures drag on forever and the topics are so boring. You don't have many grades, and there is so much necessary reading, you can't pass without all of the books.

Dr. Tracey is a very humble, respectful, and cute professor who is really passionate about what he teaches. The lectures can get a little boring sometimes because his monotone voice, but he'll crack jokes here and there which can get amusing. Overall, it was a good class and i'd take him again.

Dr. Tracey is one of the most brilliant people that I have ever had the pleasure of having as an instructor, the only thing that you should be prepared for is that he does have a monotone voice, not in a bad way, but if you want that "A", do not sit in the back. He is an amazing teacher, just kind of soft spoken. Take him!

Dr. Tracey is extremely nice and open to helping you if you need it. That being said, unless you love philosophy this is an extremely boring class. Expect to read A LOT. He gives pop quizzes every now and then and his projectspapersexams require you to have a strong understanding of the material.

Hes such a nice guy & is helpful if you go to him. He is also very understanding! But the material is VERY difficult to grasp, especially if you have no philosophy background. There is not much of a discussion he just jumps right into the lecture expecting us to follow along when more than half the time you are going "huhhhh"

This class is tedious & difficult. Instead of having a lecture then a class discussion he dives right into class discussions expecting you to understand the material. He's soft spoken & hard to follow. He has weekly quizzes& 2 essays,he's helpful but has high expectations & exams with essays where u need to speak eloquent about philosophers.

Knows his subject very well, extensive reading is required for his classes, everyday quiz makes it difficult. He is helpful and likes to have discussions especially about Aristotle whom he says is his greatest teacher. A nice person overall! If you can take the workload take his class, otherwise sign up for some other professor's class

He's definitely BORING, very long-winded, soft spoken and DOES engage only his favorite few. His reading assignments are ridiculously long. Quizzes EVERY DAY. I think most of these good comments are because he is mildly good looking, but come on.
