Comment:

He doesn't answer questions you ask in class if he thinks they are "stupid". He is rude to students and runs his courses in a way that very few succeed in the class.. most of my classmates have to retake the course due to one bad test grade.

Comment:

Orgo is hard, plain and simple. Govindan is a horrible lecturer but his tests are similar to the sample tests he gives & he is pretty great w/ partial credit. There are a few extra credit opportunities but he doesn't scale tests. He usually puts up a timed sapling test to get 10-15 points extra on tests. Tough class but passable w/ extra credit.

He is a very intelligent man and nice. However he expects you to understand things very fast. Be prepared to put many hours studying. If you do not put in the work you will not pass. If you ask him for help and show effort you will pass.

Very nice guy, put in the effort and he will notice. Take the extra credit opportunities and stay late in lab to make him notice your effort. Study and look over the lectures and you will do fine.

He knows his information, however he does not know how to teach it at all. He is not very helpful when it comes to helping students get their grades up, so as long as you already know everything about organic chemistry you are all set. No extra credit is given ever and you are told that from day one. I wish i had something nice to say but i dont!!!

Dr. Govindan has very high expectations but he is a very nice guy. He offers extra help whenever a student needs it. He also gives out extra credit assignments for each chapter that will really boost your grade at the end of the semester if you hand it all in. It's a very hard and time consuming class but that is only because it is a hard subject.

Hard to understand matierial and difficult to understand. Very hard professor, he expects you to know everything. If you really have intrest, than take other than that I wouldnt take him. Very nice guy though , but teaching isnt his thing

Worst teacher I think I've ever had. He knows what he's talking about but none of the students do. He is very hard to understand and seems to have bad anxiety. If you do the lab any way that he doesn't want it done, he freaks out. Do NOT take him.

Organic: difficult course but he is very helpful if you show effort. Course requires lots of studying (not his fault if you fail, and most do, due to lack of effort). Overall, great guy who knows his stuff.

Very nice, funny guy. Material is presented rather than taught. Hardest class I've ever taken but he's a really good guy so going to class isn't that bad. Do all the Extra Credit, do well on the labs and pass the exams and you'll do really well

You MUST READ the book and do the assign extra credit HOMEWORK Take advantage of all the extra credit because it will def. boost your grad up one letter. If you need help just ask him, he's provides help, but you must be able to show him some level of understanding the material. He won't just give the answer for free. Happy schooling!

Worst Class i have ever taken. Cant understand him and you basically have to teach yourself. We were in groups teaching ourselves the material every class. He doesnt help when you go for extra credit either he just figures everyone knows the material. I would Not recommend him.

I took pre-biochem with this teacher. He is the worst teacher I have ever taken a class with. He makes you teach yourself, and relies entirely on the text book to save his lazy a$$ from having to do his job. He thinks that everyone comes into this class with basic knowledge of chemistry, and he will make you feel stupid when you ask questions.

The worst possible teacher for a nutrition class. Didn't learn anything valuble. Should have learned to make diet plans according to people's needs but instead relearned chemistry from freshman year. Miserable. Avoid at all costs

An absolute nightmare! Never learned a damn thing because you cant understand a word through the spit on the sides of his mouth. Makes you feel stupid and has no interest in teaching to the lower 99th percentile of the class. Take organic somewhere else over the summer. There is no hope!
