I love Professor Masingale, his tests are very long and hard but if you don't finish in time he allows you to finish it so you never have to worry about that. He is very silly at times but an overall good professor.

He is hard to understand in class . If you go into his office he is willing to stay with you for as long as you need until you understand it. He is the most helpful, and makes sure his students are able to pass. He dropped my two lowest test scores because I went into his office and spoke to him. HE IS THE BEST AND HE ACTUALLY CARES

Comment:

Professor Masingale is a great teacher as long as you show up to class and pay attention to the information on his power points and homework. The tests a direct reflection of the questions he asks on homework so make sure to take the homework seriously. Basically if you put in the work it is an easy A.

I never understood chemistry and actually did horribly on every quarterly test but If you go talk to him he will help you until you actually understand what's going on. He can be very confusing in lecture but he's the coolest guy! I did so well with his help on my final that he dropped my TWO lowest test scores! So I went from a 70 average to 89!

really awesome guy, one of my favorite teachers. His class is difficult just because it is chemistry, he does a decent job teaching it. I could definetly see how his teaching style (powerpoint lectures, moves really quick) could cause problems for some people, but I had no issue with it

He is a great teacher but he moves really fast. He doesn't take the time to explain it most the time and wants you to be able to pick it up the first time he says something. He does ask for questions but if you don't ask he keeps going. You have to try and teach yourself a lot of the material and then just ask him questions.

His powerpoints are online which is nice, but considering most have tons of errors it gets confusing. Surprise quizzes on materials he didn't really teach. Boring and hard to follow along with. You could not even show and apart from the quizzes it wouldn't matter. Highly recommend teaching yourself because his teaching goes fast and isn't clear

Dr Masingale is a pleasant individual but I think he focuses too much on how easy he thinks the material is and he doesn't notice who is struggling to keep up in class. He paces the class on the progress of the best AP Chem students and not the class as 1 unit. His errors and oversights in the lecture material and calculations add to the difficulty

VERY HARD! Lab and class do not follow same topic. Plan to spend free time teaching yourself from PPTs. Expects students to know the material out of highschool. 5 tests, 8-16 pages each, and VERY DIFFICULT. Doesnt follow text. FLIES through class lectures, giving no time for comprehension. Responds to email, sometimes. This class needs prereq's!!!

Comment:

Took him for Inorganic, and tutored for his general chem class. Great professor. He puts a lot of effort into helping students understand the material, and will sit down with students one-on-one for extra help. Does plenty of in-class demonstrations to keep even the most unwilling student interested! Totally recommend him!!

Amazing professor. If you want to do well but aren't a scholar at chem thats okay. He will help you and sets up reviews for the class. He is a bit disorganized but if you ask he will explain. He cares about his students. And you can tell he is well versed in his subject.

Dr. Masingale was always available for extra help. I took this course over the summer, so it was very condensed in a 5 wk period for Chem I, and then again for Chem II. Dr. Masingale made sure students understood the material. He would walk around and give one on one help in class! Something you don't find very often! He was always helpful.

I loved chemistry first semester but taking this class with Masingales teaching style made me hate it. I spent 75mins twice a week sitting in a class where everything went way over my head. His tests are impossible and his grading is very confusing.

He is an excellent professsor although his tests are almost novels. He's so helpful and wants to make sure everyone gets the material and loves it as much as him. If you can, take him!
