READ THE BOOK. You have to read the book in order to pass this class. Only grades were 3 tests. 2 and a final. Keep up with vocabulary because the final half vocabulary from the back of the book. Got off topic easily on his stories but most of them pertained to the class. If you read the book and come to class and pay attention, you will be fine.

Make sure you start the case project before the midterm otherwise it will be stressful completing the case and studying for the final. The case was the hardest part and very difficult to make a decent grade. Overall it wasn't too bad, just prepare for exams 1-2 weeks ahead of time because of the amount of info.

Tests were the only grades- so absolutely no wiggle room. For an intro level course, it was treated as if it was a masters course. Very low respect for the professor.

This class definitely filters out students prior to entering the HA program. A lot of reading is expected so I suggest staying on top of it or else the exams will kick your butt. I have a great deal of respect for Nowicki, he is very knowledgeable and a funny guy. I have learned more from nowicki than any other professor. Great class.

As an HA major and having worked in healthcare, I find Professor Nowicki to be cognizant, highly knowledgeable, easy to listen to, not agenda driven and dispenses relevant takes from his business experience and as a national lecturer. Three tests, take good notes pay attention to "Nowicki says..." questions on the tests. Excellent teacher, take!

Loved this class! Nowicki is a great professor and I was excited to go to this class. There are only four exams and hardly any extra credit opportunities so you have to read and go to class to do well. He is sarcastic and funny so class is hardly ever boring!

His lectures are very informative and entertaining; however, the group project is very challenging, preparing for the first test caused a lot of stress and anxiety.. not because of the content or difficulty but because of the amount of information that is put out as required to be learned; the actual test was surprinsingly ok.

Very tough class if you wanna do good in this class flashcards are your best friends, you will have to know the whole glossary and the book is required and it does offer a access code that has all the PowerPoints in them. Reading the chapters are necessary, and going to office hours will definitely help also.

he really is a great professor and knows his stuff a little strict but not totally. there might only be three test but there not super hard as long as you go to class, take good notes, and read the book you'll be fine plus half the test is vocabulary. overall i really enjoyed his class.

Ok for all of those comments saying how terrible he is, that is not true at all. You have to read the book in order to get an A but if you don't & just memorize vocab you can still get a B or C. The tests are word for word out of the book so just don't be lazy and read. I literally hate reading but if you want a good grade then just do it.

There's no doubt that Professor Nowicki is tough, he wants his students to work for their grades. Just read the chapters before class, make outlines and notecards and you'll be fine! His tests are tough, but do-able. He is super nice and intelligent and always available in office hours. I would take him again!

DO NOT TAKE HIM! I read the comments and thought I could pass anyways. I am an A student and have a D in his class. Changed my major while taking him. He only has three grades and they are all tests which are very unfair. He's a nice guy but is a very tough professor, his class will ruin your GPA, don't take him.

The test are challenging but there's only a few. He is a very intelligent professor and he's not afraid to tell things like they are. His experience in the field provide interesting stories. He can sometimes talk fast, and he doesn't post his slides online so attendance is a must. Don't be afraid to ask questions, read read read the textbook.

Comment:
Dr. Nowicki has a poor attitude and isn't very approachable for help. His tests are pretty unfair and difficult. He rambles in class about material that won't even be on the test. I'm very interested in this field of study and he made it difficult to sit through this class. You have to carefully read details of the text to pass the tests.

I'm an A student and this class was by far the hardest class I've ever taken. His tests are tough!! He gives no review what so ever. I always took good notes, studied and made flash cards but that still didn't help. The tests have very detailed questions from the book so pay attention to that. I barely passed and changed my major after this class.

Just read the book and listen in class and you should make an A. You need to have an interest in the Healthcare field or you will fail. I like him, he is a nice man and a great professor. He reads everything word for word from the book, and his tests are based off definitions in the book. He will highlight in class what is most important.

Really clear during his lectures and he is not that bad of a teacher. The tests were somewhat tough for me. But its a good thing that I took this class because I realized that I did not want to make a career out of HA. I was honestly disappointed with the content of the course itself. It was more about ACA & insurances than administration itself.
