Mike was one of the best of the entire math and science faculty when I attended in 1993 and 1994. I believe he is retired now.

Pepe is one of the best math teachers at Seattle Central and the years he's been here attests to that. Let go of any preconceived ideas of his class because only in hindsight did I realize the value of his class. He teaches you to learn in college. You have to learn on your own and thats normal! This isn't high school where the teachers spoon feeds

It's precal-I so it's tough in and of itself. Pepe was awesome! Since this class, I will be trying to get into more of his classes as I progress through the precal and cal series.

He is very hard to learn from, general consensus of the class is that things are not explained very well. He does avail himself for office hours though. Most of your grade is based off of exam grades. Textbook is used very little if at all, there are suggested problems to do but homework is rarely graded.

If you are good at PRECALCULUS then take his MATH142, if not you better choose another professor. I did't learn well on my high school, but I did my best on this class. He is not helpful at all, he doesn't give any extra points, and he is not willing to help students! Anyway, I am not recommend to take his class, it will mess up your GPA for sure.

Pepe wants you to know and understand the material, so much so we spent the beginning of the quarter on one topic. He is not a very hard teacher if you understand math, he does not drop the lowest quiz score :( He rarely uses the book. Understand the material and you will do well.

By far the best math teacher at sccc. He genuinly wants to hep his students... I always send him questions via wamap and get a response within 24hrs. You can tell that he loves what he does and it rubs off!

I got a 3.7 in his class. For someone who doesn't really like math, this is pretty outstanding. The only thing I had trouble with was the last section about vectors, and was because of time restraints. Pepe was an awesome teacher and explained things well. FYI, he inks in cramped cursive so you'll do better in his class if you sit in the front.

Excellent teacher. Is easy to talk to, and takes the time to make sure people understand as well as they can. Does not flood you with information that goes over your head, but tries to show how information is applicable. If you understand connecting multiple pieces of information, his tests are quite understandable. He doesn't try to trick you.

Hes a graduate from Princeton, and has been teaching a very long time. If youre lucky youll get into his class before it overflows the DAY your allowed to register. Hes the best calculus teacher at this school and his heart is in the subject.

I think Pepe is a great professor. At first I wasnt sure I was into him, he seemed uninterested in teaching (I think hes been doing it forever). In the end I really liked him and got a 3.0. Study the cd's the book comes with a lot, his notes, re-do problems over and over again. Tests are based on what are in the lecture notes. Hes not tricky!

Comment:

He is a really nice teacher, will randomly tell a joke or two which is nice. Homework is easy and tests are hard, but everything on the tests are literally given to you on pass out sheets he gives during class. If you get a bad grade on a test you have yourself to blame, he practically gives you the answers beforehand.
