Highly recommended. Explains things very clearly on the board, so you end up with great notes. Very willing to help in office hours, too. Takes problems from the homework & handouts & puts those on the tests. Really nice, funny lady.

Comment:

Incredible teacher and person, likes to joke around. Exam reviews are extremely similar to exams, and if you understand those, you'll do well. You make your own formula sheets for exams. I got chegg to help me through the tough HW problems and it helped tremendously. Goes super fast in lectures but pauses to take questions.

Professor Byars rocks! She is well organized, friendly, funny, always willing to help, explains stuff so its easy to understand, plus she has candy in her office. Her tests are mostly based on the review sheets.

Nan teaches how to do easy problems and then gives out problem sheets with harder problems leaving people asking questions which she answers individually so you probably wont get answered. Hw is a big percentage. Tests are not strait forward. A big eh... to Byars.

She's a pretty good professor. The material is hard and she does a fine job of making it doable (it could be a hell of alot harder!). I can't think of anyone else I'd want to take this with. Taking heat x-fer w/her this fall...we'll see how that goes. Good sense of humor.
