Took several classes with her; Great prof. She really makes u work for your grades. Uses book plus lectures different material; no redundancies.Test are difficult, because you can't just repeat facts; she makes u think and really apply material. If you are looking for a challenge and are really interested in the subject, then she one of best.

Comment:

One of the worst teachers I have ever had.She is obviously a smart woman but makes you leave having more questions than answers. Her tests have NOTHING to do with what we read or learned in class. I studied hard, read the book, paid attention in class and got a D on the test. AWFUL TEACHER

Race and Ethnicity. Terrible professor. Almost failed the class. No one in my class ever recieved an A on any test. My friend took this class with another professor and he got a full letter grade better than me. Nothing against him, but I am a much better student than he is.

Dr. Fischer is the most horrible teacher I have ever come across, she was confusing, frustrating, and gave examples that didn't apply to the tests. Her tests are impossible and I will NEVER take a sociology class again because of her! She ruined the whole subject for me. Should not work here, or anywhere else... Scatterbrained!

Race and Ethnicity : this class is hard with her and very stupid. Boring everyday, and the test are ridiculous, not to mention the 9 page paper about 2 different churches you have to attend. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!!!

Comment:

Smart woman but that does not always make a good professor. Tends to be biased in her mindset and creates misleading scenerios. It's impossible to get a professor to teach a Race and Ethnicity class that isn't somewhat aggressive.

Hard, very very hard. This professor should stay away from lower division courses and teach the higher division. No reason to kill freshmen in their second semester in college but she will do it. Maybe the soci students can follow her but she's usually all over the place...Not a teacher I will willingly take again...would have to drag me in.

Maybe not for those who aren't sociology majors - but a very intelligent, well-educated, practical woman and proffesor. Her upper division classes are all writing based - excellent - know what you are talking about before you hand in your paper!

Intro to Soc: She is AWFUL. I like sociology, but her class bores me to tears. The class isn't hard if you read the material and don't listen to her. She's way to high strung. That's the amusing part of her class, watching her say "crumbs" over and over while getting frustrated with the chalk, the projector, the VCR, and the best is the internet.

I love soc. but not when she teaches it. if you have to take intro to soc., take Lisa Pay, i hear she is much much better.
