It does not matter if you read or not. I took multiple classes with Professor Richwine and in all of them she stands up at the front of the room reading off note cards which repeat verbatim what we read. She does not go off script. She is also really hard to figure out. She can be in a great mood or a terrible mood.

Comment:

This is my second time having her as a professor, but the first time having her for an education class. Really opened my mind and challenged my views on children with different disabilities. Work load gets heavy near the end of the semester, but as long as you keep track of due dates, you'll be fine. Don't save work for last minute!

I had her for Exceptional Learning and for the assessment class of student teaching. She is very specific and clear. As a current teacher and MEd grad student, I often look back to the notes and texts from her classes.

he grading appears to award parrots; if you differ in opinion from her and expres your position on tests, you cannot hope to do well. If you can bite your tongue and regurgitate what hshe told you, you will do fine

Comment:

Richwine has been very understanding and quite helpful. Others have had minor problems with her, but honestly, I'd prefer her to my normal advisor (Rosenberg). She works hard to make her class both interesting and accessable, and has a much more realistic educational philosophy than some other ed professors.

AMAZING class. Lots of work towards the end of the semester, but the class is so interesting. My favorite edu class so far- richwine is an interesting lecturer and allows for lots of student input.

Sally Richwine is amazing! People think she is a tough cookie, but that is becuase she wants people to work hard and succeed, esp. in the education program. She has an great personality and a great sense of humor.

This professor asks for a lot of papers at the end of the semester. She couldn't possibly have the time to sit and read them objectively. I believe she asks for all this work and gives out grades based solely on her 'perception' of your understanding. Not what I'd consider a top educator.

I had Mrs. Richwine four years ago for Exceptional Learner. Dull! I absolutely detested this class. She definitely has her favorites! Even though you are expected to ask questions and challenge educational thought, don't. She holds any opinion different from hers, against you. Take someone else.

i think she's a good teacher but she (very obviously) has favorites so if she doesn't like you, she can be ****y... she also keeps you like 15 minutes over class time EVERY day and that gets annoying
