He mocked students and although he did seem to care, he emphasized all the wrong things. I would advise taking literally anyone else for lab.

He helps his students with homework a lot but I personally did not like his lecture. His quizes and exams are bases on his lectures.

The class is balanced between homework, pop quizzes, papers and exams. He doesn't offer study guides or if he does they're basically just cut downs of his powerpoints. Basically, attend the class, read through the powerpoints and you'll be fine. No need to read the book, just use the access code for online homework.

This class was extremely difficult to learn the information and his lectures were very hard to follow! The first half of the semester was horrible but he picked up at the end. It really pays to go to class. There were 4 exams and a cumulative exam at the end, a quiz every week, you can only miss 1 lab otherwise you fail, and in class points.

Hes not very clear in his lectures. He jumps around to different things, which is really confusing. I dont recommend taking any of his classes, unless you already know all of the content. He will not make you a study guide for any of the three exams or the cumulative final.

Professor Winter is very unorganized, his lectures are pointless going to because he doesn't even understand what he is teaching. He often questions his own answers in class. His tests are multiple choice, but are very hard. I would definitely recommend you guys NOT to take him. The average test scores in his class are about 50%. Very hard teacher.

Winter is a good Professor. He takes his time and teaches at a fast pace. The hardest thing to understand is his lectures and assignments. His test are multiple choice. His online assignments are due every week and stressful. Never went to his lectures, never took notes, notes were online. Studied from book and still hard to manage a good grade.

Dr. Winter is a wonderful human, but a difficult professor. That being said, his lectures can be confusing, but if you take the time to read to book, do the practice, and visit office hours it will be easier. This is a 400 level course and he treats it as such. Be prepared to put in work.

Professor is extremely disorganized and doesn't appear to even know what is in his PowerPoints. Often will send an email the night before the next class assigning homework. Completely fails to give instructions on how to perform the labs. He scribbles all over what little useful information is in his PowerPoint.

Dr. Winter is tough, but then, I am not good at chemistry in the least. His lectures are very lively (yes, there are many tangents). Of course there are lectures you don't want to go to but at least for me this is not something to teach yourself. Do the hw! It will help you learn and it will help your grade. Study for the weekly quizes!!

so far this guy is one of the worst people that I have ever met. he charges you based of how you interact with others, and what his favorite students think of you. he is very unorganized and seems that he doesn't review his lecture slides before coming to the class. I wouldn't recommend him to any one.

The material for biochemistry is challenging but if you put effort into the class and study for weekly quizzes you will get a lot out of it. Dr. Winter is very helpful and goes out of his way to get to know his students. I would highly recommend this class with Dr. Winter.

Great professor! Funny, classy, and makes you want to learn chemistry. He is willing to help you out if you visit his office, and will take the time to get to know you and all sixty or so of your peers on a first and last name basis. I highly recommend taking chemistry with this man.

Prior to enrolling in Biochem, I heard many horror stories from friends about the professors that taught the course. Dr. Winter did not reflect the horror stories told. His class was challenging, yes, but it was not impossible to do well. If you choose to talk to him and ask him questions on confusing material, he will help you out. Participate.

Dr Winter has been my favorite professor at SCSU so far. He takes time to get to know his students and uses techniques in lecture that ensure you are paying attention. It's not an easy class by any stretch but he tells you what you need to do to do well. If you're willing to put in the work you'll be fine.

Winter is the quintessential chemistry professor complete with corny chemistry jokes. He is a great teacher though and really goes out of his way to get to know his students.
