Comment:
deep understanding of probability, yet bureaucratically inefficient and sometimes made mistakes with examples; a fair but tough grader, and expects a lot from students; also, very clear presentation; much wisdom and life experience, if social nonconformity, great and memorable professor overall

Among all the professors I had in my college career, Dr. Gretsky ranks very high in the totem pole. He wasn't just teaching us the course materials but taught us practical problem-solving skills. Thank you, Dr. Gretsky, I am still using what you taught me today.

This man is a very down to Earth Professor who can make a very boring and difficult subject much more interesting and ultimately rewarding. He has the signs of a bad stroke some time in his past which is too bad because he is such a cool guy. He seems like the New York version of a Riverside Math Teacher.

I have a lot of respect for this guy. Even though he often seems ruthless, and is intimidating, his homework solutions are so thorough that it makes even the hardest proofs easy to grasp. Kind of. I had to take his class a second time and barely passed, but learned a lot more than from most other professors. If you want to learn, take him.

One of the best and most influential professors I ever had in Computer Science, and he's a math professor! Unlike others, I use the information he taught in the real world even today, 14 years later.

This professor is very unclear in his lectures, he mumbles alot and writes chicken scratch on the board, i learned more from the TA than him. He does not curve, does not explain well and wants us to understand the material

One of the better professors at UCR, but don't expect a free ride. He doesn't curve (as others have noted). He is generally more helpful at office hours than lecture. His lectures are VERY IMPORTANT... don't miss them like I did. Homework solutions are critical, study them for the exam, but k

This guy is awesome. One of the most influential prof's I had at UCR in the mid 1990s. This guy knows his stuff! Even to this day I still think about some of the things he taught me - things I can use in day to day life. He also had a great sense of humour!
